Edibles are just a different ballgame. Takes longer to kick in and the effect is much stronger. There's also no way to walk yourself into the level you want. Once you strap in for the ride you're in for the ride. Where as with smoking, vaping, whatever the effects are much more immediate and you can better dose yourself.

I think McDermott gets it. He knows we cut Cam's career short by several years. He doesn't want to see it happen with Allen. He's been pretty vocal this offseason that he wants to see Allen evolve his style of play and I imagine it'll also come with an evolution of the play calling that we didn't see in Carolina with Cam until it was already too late.

There's a fine line between confident and cocky and you gotta tightrope it to be an elite NFL QB. With some of these guys though, it's very obvious to me they're well into the cocky territory and I just don't trust those guys to put in the work it will take. You gotta still retain that realization that no matter how talented you are you're gonna have to work your ass off to be an elite QB in the NFL.

Mayock needed a towel to clean himself up, meanwhile the ball is just spraying wildly throwing against air to his guys at his pro day. Convince me that guy becomes an elite NFL passer. At the time, you couldn't. Absolutely not. I was dead wrong.

He gives me Josh Rosen/Paxton Lynch "I'm too good to possibly fail" toxically cocky vibes.

Levis? No. Richardson? Maybe.

You really need to do this Josh Allen comparison exercise before you keep making these foot in mouth definitive statements.

Reality is probably somewhere in the middle. It comes down to judging whether or not the accuracy issues are fixable with mechanics or if this guy simply isn't a very accurate thrower of the football. I think everyone is capable of improving their skills in practically anything but some folks are just naturally gonna be better than others and those folks are always going to stay better if they put in the work. It's just a judgement call in every individual case.

Just saying. Go back and watch Josh Allen throwing in college versus now. It'll break your brain. That can't be the same guy. Just can't be.
-
With definitive statements all you need is one to disprove.

Its super valid. I watched a lot of his college games living in CO at the time. The guy was wildly erratic with his accuracy. I mean, a few throws a game where you honestly couldn't even tell who was the intended target unless it was intended for someone in the crowd. I mean there was that guy open 10 yards away but surely he wasn't... OMG, yeah I think he was trying to throw to that guy.

Go back and watch Josh Allen at Wyoming. Prior to Josh Allen I full heartedly agreed. Then Josh Allen happened. A guy who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn became a legit elite NFL passer. That broke my brain.

The suit is about that the money should've been available. Probably a LOT. Honestly, it would probably be the end of the NCAA and if that's the case then good riddance.

Honestly, I can understand the case for prior revenue sports stars. Chuba ran for over 2000 yards in a season at Oklahoma State. Had he been eligible for NIL endorsements he would've been able to cash in for some serious coin. A female track athlete though? That's a harder sell IMO. I know that LSU gymnast is making bank but let's be honest, it's not because of her athletic pursuits.

Mel Kiper both kinda created and kinda ruined draft coverage. He was the guy who initially made the draft "his" thing and was the guy who started this trend of making hard definitive statements about guys who have never played a down in the NFL. He's a can't miss prospect. He's a plug and play starter. He's a ten year All-Pro. Draft this guy and you don't have to worry about this position for a decade. All that poo traces back to helmet hair.

Lamar is fuged. Now that the Ravens have seen that there's minimal market out there for him they're gonna hardball him. This is the risk he took.
-
It depends. There's obviously prerequisites. I mean, you can have a guy who has all the football savvy in the world but if he can only throw a football 35 yards then he was probably a great HS QB who maybe played some DIII ball before going into coaching.

The fish I pictured came out of Luke Kuechly's preferred WNC fishery. It's the closest stream to me but I honestly prefer quite a few other streams over it. I only fish it a handful of times a year despite it being the most convenient to me.

Not sure if we're just doing our homework on guys like JSN and Porter in case they fall to #39 (that seems HIGHLY unlikely) or if those visits indicate we could potentially be in the market to jump back into the latter portion of the 1st if the right guy is there? Hell, I guess there's a chance the JSN visit might be at least partially about getting more insight into Stroud too. You only get 30 of these visits so they matter.

Nice one! I didn't catch anything sizeable this weekend but I caught 10-13 inchers I til I got bored of doing it and went home. I was catching some nice fish around this time last year. Hopefully I'll pick up some sizeable ones before summer hits. I really need to do more floating of the Catawba tailrace. It's in my backyard but I haven't floated it in years. There used to be some hog browns in there but I here it isn't fishing in recent years like it used to.

I don't really care who we finally settle on I just hope that it is someone everyone in the building is sold on and excited as hell to work with.

A Different Perspective on the Young vs Stroud Decision
LinvilleGorge replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think he is too, but he definitely doesn't have the natural feel for the game that Young has and there's plenty to work on technically. I just see them as opposite prospects in terms of how you're trying to project this particular guy to the NFL. For Young, you're almost completely leaning on intangibles. For Richardson, you're almost completely leaning on measurables. -

Fair take IMO. But damn... that game against UGA against the best D this side of the NFL was REALLY damn good though... Honestly, I'm just avoiding getting emotionally attached to any particular prospect. I can fully understand the arguments for and against Young, Stroud, and Richardson. I can see all three becoming very good NFL QBs and I can see all three busting. Odds are ATL east one of them will pan out. I hope the guy we draft does.
