  1. Jake was basically a more fiery Derek Carr. A borderline top 10 QB who allowed you to compete.
  2. Different era of football and he really only had a handful of years before his elbow fell apart and he was a shadow of himself. He had his best season without Smitty. You can't call him overall trash because his arm fell apart. Same argument applies to Cam.
  3. With the upgrades to the OL I'm onboard. The staff is still a huge concern but that is what it is. Worst case scenario IMO would be trading up for Willis. He's not ready and Rhule would probably try to force him in before he's ready as desperation to save his job set in.
  4. Moving Robby is key IMO. He was terrible last year and if his Twitter feed is any indication held going to become a locker room issue if he isn't already. I'd literally trade him for anything. If someone offered a pick tonight I'd probably take it without even offering a counter. Just send the papers.
  5. Trading Robby for a pick tonight is my goal. Trading Robby for a pick used on Sam Howell is my ideal scenario. Either way, I'm trying to move Robby tonight.
  6. Oh, I think it had a LOT to do with the injury. He was a road grader in Denver. He noticeably lacked playing strength here. He was a different player. Like comparing Cam's arm before the Watt hit and after. It was dramatic. Not just that but he was agile as hell. Look at this. He simply could not physically do that after that hip injury. That was a gigantic hole and a big gain in Denver and it was all because of Paradis. CMC gets hit two yards behind the LOS here if we ask Paradis to attempt to replicate that.
  7. But you have to be able to threaten downfield. If the entire D is squatting on everything because they no you can't attack deep then there's no room to work underneath. There has to be the threat of attacking deep.
  8. I would've preferred to trade down but I'm not upset at the pick. I don't know that Ekwonu will be the best OL out of this draft but I think he was the safest. Worst case scenario, I think he's a damn good guard. No, that's not what you want at #6 but it sure beats a bust of an OT who can't kick inside.
  9. Agreed. All the talk about drafting a QB and downplaying vet options screams that Rhule is no longer the dominant voice in the room.
  10. I just think his physical limitations are going to be too much to overcome. Great small college QB who was fun as hell to watch at that level but I just think the ball is in the air too long at the NFL level.
  11. Paradis was coming off of a serious injury though. That was my big hang up on him.
  12. Then ignore it. Funny how there's never any complaints about fanboys of any other college team. Kinda gets annoying listening to the small handful of you whine about it. Yeah, I'm a UNC fan but am I whining about picking an NCSU OT? Nope. I want good players regardless of where they played in college.
  13. I really don't think we're giving up next year's 1st. I'd be shocked.i honestly think Tepper would veto it.
  14. His ceiling isn't the issue. If you knew you were getting his ceiling I think he's worth a high 2nd given the run on WRs yesterday. The issue is his floor and last anyone saw he was faceplanted on it.
  15. The problem is that he makes Teddy Bridgewater's arm look like Jeff George in comparison. I mean, his arm is college weak. I hope the kid can stick on a roster but his arm is going to be a hugely limiting factor in the NFL. Possibly insurmountable.
  16. It makes sense to me for both sides if the right QB prospect is still available.
  17. I remember Star's reaction. I was so excited for the pick and he looked like he needed a trashcan to puke in.
  18. That's what I thought too but given that crazy run on WRs yesterday and multiple major trades for vet WRs I think he my have more value than I would've thought. There are still contenders like GB and KC who are borderline desperate at WR.
  19. I don't think we can make the move without a player being involved and Robby would be my bet.
  20. Probably so. I think Willis comes off the board very early tonight. I know the Panthers like Howell but I don't know how much. Another team that likes him is the Seahawks and the hold the 9th and 10th picks in the 2nd.
  21. Here's why I think they're going to fly... The top 10 picks in the 2nd round are: Bucs Vikings Titans Giants Texans Jets Bears Seahawks Seahawks Colts Every team there minus the Jets and Bears could potentially pick a QB. I don't think the Bucs will since they picked a QB in the 2nd last year. I expect them to definitely field calls for that pick. The Vikings may delude themselves into trying to make a run with Cousins. I think they field calls too. I'll be surprised if the Giants and Seahawks DON'T take QBs. Maybe the Colts too. Teams later in the round will be looking at that too.
