  1. Steelers vs. Ravens is off to an ugly start. Three combined 1st quarter turnovers. Tough to tell these teams are playing for their playoff lives. Granted, the Ravens need a LOT of help even if they win. The Steelers just need the Colts to lose, but that's relying on a Jags win.
  2. Yikes. But Big Ben throws it right back to the Ravens with a VERY Darnold-esque pick. The DB looked like a returner fielding a punt.
  3. Now Huntley throws an INT. He's off to a Darnold-esque start in this one. I know some of our fans have expressed potential interest in him.
  4. For some reason, they didn't give him credit for a sack there. I have no idea why. The snap one hopped to Huntley who scooped it up, got it to his chest and was standing in the pocket as a QB looking down the field when Watt hit him. Whatever technicality that made them not record that a sack is dumb.
  5. Great point. If you think he requires a "rockstar OC" then he's not the right guy anyway because rockstar OCs become HCs very quickly.
  6. Steelers go three and out but a bad snap leads to a TJ Watt sack/fumble of Huntley and the Steelers have it inside the 40 now.
  7. His contract is up and it's already being widely reported that yes retiring from the Steelers following this year's draft. He's "only" 65. Tepper is 64. If Tepper wants him, now's the time to show up with a Brinks truck.
  8. I'm gonna start with Steelers/Ravens. Big time divisional rivalry with the playoffs on the line. Both need a W and some help to qualify.
  9. Like I said previously, I can really only see two legit scenarios where they would: 1. Final paycheck as they head for retirement. 2. They see a likely HC audition when Rhule gets canned mid-season next year.
  10. Funny you should mention it since I'm pretty sure we've been using the Madden play call suggestion feature in the video game as our OC since firing Brady.
  11. But I'm talking specifically about the types of candidates we seem to be seeking. Career NFL coaches with long resumes. Former NFL head coaches. Guys on first name basis with someone in virtually every NFL coaching tree. Why does someone like THAT sign up for this gig?
  12. Based on what? Not being a smartass, legit question.
  13. And a coach on the hottest seat in the league. IF this is true, this just feels like scapegoating. If you want to fire him, fire him. You don't need this ex use of an ultimatum. There's two years of utter failure to point to.
  14. This is so weird and dysfunctional. If you want to fire Rhule, fire Rhule. But this just feels like setting him up to fail and then using this as the excuse. These two seasons of utter failure is all the excuse you need.
  15. Why did they use a picture of a Carolinas' Goodwill store for that article?
  16. Yep. The Saints are probably going to be right back in the mix as a contender next year after addressing QB. Unlike us, they're an ideal destination for a good veteran QB.
  17. This. Complacency doesn't make a "good fan" or a "real fan". It makes a sucker. The Panthers may have never established consistent success but we used to have sporadic success. Then along came David Tepper...
  18. With no QB? No OL? A meddling college coach? Not exactly an ideal stepping stone gig unless it's a stepping stone to retirement.
  19. Herbert terrified me as a prospect because of how terrified Oregon's coaches were to take the leash off of him. In hindsight, that was 100% on the coaches and was likely discovered by NFL teams during the interview process. The game tape showed the physical talent was absolutely there.
  20. The guy quietly did his job perfectly for years in a role you literally never notice unless they royally fug up.
  21. Tepper still thinks he's trying to keep the Titanic afloat, meanwhile the Titanic is currently already halfway to the bottom of the north Atlantic and just split in half.
  22. The most intriguing match up today might be the Raiders vs. Chargers. The winner goes to the playoffs. The loser goes home.
  23. Kinda like you following me around to complain? Talk about the other games or STFU.
  24. This post is probably better suited here as this is the more active thread: I'm gonna be honest and objective about this. Look at the situation. We have a college coach who has won 10 games in two seasons. He is expected to go into next season on the hottest seat in the league. We are flailing at QB with terrible moves that are hamstringing both our draft capital and our cap space and are almost certainly poised to make another one of those moves in the near future. We have no OL. We have some nice weapons at WR and arguably the best all-around (yet injury plagued) RB in the NFL, but we reportedly plan on shopping him. If I was a legit candidate, why would I even consider this gig, especially if I'm a former HC with likely a plethora of NFL connections? Honestly, the only real answer I'm coming up with is that I already have one foot out the door of coaching and I'm looking to fleece Tepper out of a retirement check to buy another vacation home and a fishing boat. The best "positive" answer I can come up with is that I figure Rhule is certain to get fired because he's not cut out for the NFL and I think I can get an audition as the HC if Rhule gets fired mid-season. Tepper may be brilliant in the world of finance, but he's probably the biggest sucker in football right now and the word is out.
