  1. Watch the individual player, not the results of the plays/game.
  2. Define "major haul". If we didn't desperately need a QB I'd be all about it, but we can't be dealing considerable draft assets until we figure out the QB question.
  3. I wasn't overly impressed with Leatherwood in the CFP. I think he's a good OT prospect, but I honestly think his late 1st to early 2nd draft grades from a month or so more accurately reflected where he should be drafted.
  4. Let me just start off by saying I'd hate this draft, but I think this could be the type of scenario we're looking at with all of four of the "big four" QB prospects gone by #7. I start off trading down in the 1st (twice) with all the QBs gone. I pick up an extra 2nd (Minnesota gave me a 2nd to move from #14 to #9) and 3rd (Denver gave me a 3rd to move up one spot) next year. Slater is there so I take him. Hopefully he's our LT for the next decade. If not, he has positional versatility and should work out somewhere along the OL and we pretty much need an upgrade everywhere except RT. 14. Rashawn Slater OT Northwestern Listen, I don't like this pick. BUT, we're done with Teddy. I think Jones is likely an NFL backup and this is a steep price for a backup, but it gives us a chance to give him a look as possibly more. I wanted Creed Humphrey or Wyatt Davis here but they were gone. 39. Mac Jones QB Alabama We need an upgrade at outside CB. Here's a guy. 73. Eric Stokes CB Georgia We could use an upgrade at MLB and need added depth at LB overall. I was surprised to see Moses still available. 78. Dylan Moses LB Alabama We want more versatility like Chinn. Well, here's a poor man's Chinn at #113. 113. Talanoa Hufanga S USC I think Jackson is a very good and highly underrated C prospect. 152. Drake Jackson OC Kentucky Anderson will give us an upgrade at IOL depth immediately and could end up competing for a starting job at some point. 185. Jack Anderson OG Texas Tech This is a boom or bust pick. Palmer has some elite traits but his route running needs work and his QB situation in college was trash. 195. Josh Palmer WR Tennessee Taking another swing at QB here. Like I said, we're done with Teddy. I think we'll have a vet in the mix to compete with Jones but Buechele gives us a developmental #3. Ultimately, I doubt he works out by it's the 223rd pick. Few of them do. 223. Shane Buechele QB SMU 2022 MIN 2nd 2022 DEN 3rd
  5. I'd love to see Morgan back here. That's all I have to offer.
  6. Because they were probably only being offered peanuts. I think all that talk of a 1st rounder and possibly even more was pure BS from the Eagles' end.
  7. There's no two ways to slice it, we're in a bad spot right now. We're probably on the outside looking in on the QB run at #8 while also needing to rebuild the OL. Trading to get our QB greatly impacts our ability to rebuild the OL. Using our capital to rebuild the OL basically means forgoing a QB or taking a shot in the dark at a 2nd or 3rd tier QB, be it a draft pick or a vet. We already went that vet route last year. In the ideal world, Fields or Lance is available at #8. I'm just less and less convinced of that with each passing day with this current QB carousel going on. We have a gigantic target on our backs from teams behind us too because if one of those guys is available at #7 the Lions' phone is gonna be ringing off the hook with everyone and their brother knowing we are desperate for a QB.
  8. It's starting to look like all these trade offer rumors likely originated from the Eagles desperately trying to drum up a market. If I had to guess, he ends up getting dealt to the Colts for peanuts.
  9. So that WFT win costs us our 2nd rounder and next year's 1st? OUCH.
  10. If you go strictly by the you don't draft *insert position* from *insert college program*, then Brian Burns isn't a Panther because lord knows there's no shortage of NFL bust pass rushers from FSU. There are a lot of teams that wish they hadn't rolled their eyes at yet another Jeff Tedford Call QB when Aaron Rodgers was available.
  11. Nope. He's been beat out by two very good but not quite great QBs. He's just not good enough. We already have a guy who's not good enough.
  12. No, I'd rather trade down and accumulate more future draft assets because we're probably going to have to trade up next year.
  13. If we don't answer the QB question elsewhere, then any pick other than QB is going to be deeply disappointing.
  14. Another second or two just means more time to find that checkdown. Hell, maybe being sped up wouldn't give him time to get to the checkdown.
  15. If you're drafting an OL in the top 5 and he ends up playing anything other than LT then that's gotta be a little disappointing IMO.
  16. Sewell making it past the Bengals at #5 would be almost as shocking as the Jags picking anyone other than Lawrence.
  17. Trubisky is FA, so we wouldn't have to trade anything for him.
  18. Minshew reminds me a lot of Jake Delhomme and I say that as a good thing. I wouldn't be opposed to trading for him if the draft doesn't fall our way, but there's no way I'd have him at #1 and be saying absolutely no to Carr. That seems insane to me.
  19. Oof. I didn't realize he'd had a long list of legal issues. Not really sure why that hasn't been mentioned by all the people acting like it's absurd he hasn't been offered a head coaching gig yet. Also, Bieniemy looks like a HW Floyd Mayweather.
  20. I guess all this urgency to find a new QB was worth jumping from +6600 to +5000.
