  1. Well, knowing what we know now, this thread is fuging hilarious.
  2. I really hope we're looking at Eric Murray but I've seen no indication that we are. I love the guy.
  3. I'm honestly not sure how high on Corey Coleman. Gettleman seems to be all about route running when it comes to WRs and Baylor's offense features very few routes. That's not to say he can't run them, it's just that he hasn't been able to really demonstrate it.
  4. Dorsett is a guy who can run really fast. Shepard is a real WR.
  5. Shepard has far more college production. He had almost 1300 receiving yards last season. Dorsett never had a 900 yard season at Miami.
  6. Three drafts. Two 6th rounders and a 5th rounder. Might be time to make a real investment instead of taking a late round flier.
  7. Every school has guys who don't work out. It only scares me when it's repeatedly guys at the same position playing in the same system. That's when it becomes a major question mark. But, then again, that happened with Cal QBs then you get Aaron Rodgers.
  8. I think Hunter Henry's draft prospects are being inflated quite a bit - possibly a lot - due to the fact that this is an overall terrible TE class. I don't see anything impressive. Neither did Olsen when he was at the combine analyzing the TE prospects in this class. If he's really the next Jason Witten, then by all means I hope we're the team that drafts him, but in reality I don't even think he's close to that. I'll always be leery of Bama RBs. They all look like beasts in college running behind dominant OLs, but if the staff and front office think he's Stew's succussor then I'm all for it. We are a run heavy team and our workhorse back is in the last year of his contract and coming up on that dreaded age of 30. A future workhorse is definitely a significant need.
  9. There is no "home team" in the Super Bowl. Sadly, the Super Bowl has become such a huge event that the vast majority of tickets are bought up by corporate interests and the wealthy. There aren't many actual fans at the Super Bowl. They're there for the event, not so much the two teams on the field. I will say that living out here in CO, shortly after the teams were decided, most Broncos fans didn't think they had a chance. They were just hoping to avoid another Super Bowl embarrassment. That tide has turned. They're hyped now. They're gonna be crushed.
  10. Hoyer finally three a decent ball and it got dropped. Would've been a tough catch, but it was catchable and catchable is as good as it's gonna get from Hoyer.
  11. Gotta feel bad for the Texans. Great D, but no QB and their offense was completely sunk when Arian Foster went down. Hoyer was almost unbelievably bad in that 1st quarter. Missing open receivers and thrown an INT and lost a fumble. Both of which were pretty much unforced errors. The throw was terrible and then with the fumble he literally just dropped the ball.
  12. On my way to Charlotte now. First chance to see my Panthers live since moving to Colorado in '07. Last time was the MNF win over the Bucs on 11/13/06.
  13. Bene is getting abused by that quick slant. He's been beaten badly by that route three times on this drive.
  14. Smitty is one of my favorite Panthers of all time, but we're 5-0 right now and seem to have great team chemistry. It sure seems like locker room atmosphere and chemistry was the biggest reason why Gman parted with Smitty in the first place. We're simply playing too well right now and have too much going for us to bring in a volatile personality like Smitty. Also, if you guys will recall, Smitty wasn't Smitty his last season in Carolina. At this point in his career he's no longer a #1. When defenses were able to focus on him, he was pretty well locked down. He's still a dangerous threat, but put him in this WR corps and he's nothing special because defenses would be keying on him.
  15. I'd love for them to run that wide 9 against us. Maybe that'll finally really open up the running game for us. We're stout in the middle of our OL, the wide 9 is weak up the gut. I like our chances against that. If we can establish the running game, we can use play action to help out the OTs against the pass rush.
  16. Their D is pretty damn good, especially considering the positions Bradford puts them in with his turnovers. They're middle of the pack (15th) in yards per game, but they're 6th in points allowed. They'll give up yardage, but they're stingy to give up points. Comparatively, the Panthers rank 7th in both yards per game and points allowed. They've also forced the most turnovers in the NFL (16) compared to our 11 turnovers. The big difference there is that the Eagles have turned the ball over themselves 14 times compared to our 5. Our D should have opportunities to create some turnovers this week.
  17. My good buddy who is a huge Eagles fan and generally knowledgeable football fan sent me this text last night: "Next week should be interesting. Both teams seem to have a top 5 defense and 1 team has a great QB with 1 good weapon while the other team has a poo QB with 6 good weapons."
  18. Other the obviously overlooking TD at OLB, biglou22's post was pretty much spot on.
  19. Damn it. I'll be shocked if Shaq didn't just blow out his knee.
  20. The season is hanging in the balance. We already don't have a WR corps. Without Kalil we don't have an OL either. Really, REALLY hope this isn't serious.
  21. That was the worst defensive series the D has had so far this season. That was pathetic.
  22. Love Cam, but no it's not. If he has put some air under that ball and put it in the endzone for Olsen to run under it was an easy TD. Olsen had to wait on the ball to get there and that let the defender recover.
