  1. Just watch, we'll take a WR at #25 and Proudiddy will bitch and moan that, "Gettleman doesn't give a damn about WR! Look, he drafted ANOTHER #2 WR! We still need a #1!!!"
  2. I think a lot of Gettleman's "fill needs through FA to be able to go BPA in the draft" talk is just that, talk. Every team tries to go into the draft with as few glaring holes as possible, but we went into Gettleman's first draft in Carolina with a MASSIVE need at DT. What'd he do? Double dipped and went DT in the 1st and 2nd rounds. We went into last year's draft with a MASSIVE need at WR. What'd he do? Took a WR in the 1st round. I don't think it's a coincidence that his early picks have been at positions of need. Gettleman wants high draft picks to be impact players immediately. While most didn't see that in Ealy, Gettleman knew then that Hardy was playing his last season in Carolina. He didn't anticipate Ealy having to play as big of a role as he did, but I think he felt all along that Kony Ealy would be penciled in as a starter for the 2015 season.
  3. I don't really care about #1 vs. #2. Just give me two legit starters and call whichever one you want the #1. KB is one legit starter. We need another one.
  4. I don't think anyone has talked about Philly as the potential #2, have they? I also think you're badly underselling KB. Prior to last season, only 8 rookie WRs in the last 20 years had 1000+ receiving yards as a rookie. He definitely needs to work on his consistency, but the dude is a beast and every team and QB in the NFL would love to have him.
  5. It's just my opinion, but I think we're going WR early in the draft again this year. Overall, I like our WR depth chart. We just have a glaring hole at #2. We have ample bodies to compete for #3 through #5 or #6. Ginn has shown what he can do in our offense and Brown showed promise last season. I think they're probably going to compete for that #3 role. Our #2 will come in the draft.
  6. I would've liked to have seen Nicks here, but Gettleman was in NY for Nicks' entire career and should be very familiar with him. If he thought he could help us out, I'm sure he'd be here.
  7. Yeah, they're definitely drafting another QB high this year because, well, they're the Browns and that's just what they do. I think they probably take a QB at either #19 or #43 unless they make some sort of trade to get one somewhere in between those two spots.
  8. No proven production + huge questions off the field = do not want. The risk outweigh the reward. Someone will probably draft him in the 1st or 2nd round and I'm gonna LMAO.
  9. How is he going to dominate as a rookie in the NFL? He never dominated at the college level and he's a year removed from playing at all. He's pure potential with very little proven production and a ton of question marks off the field. I would be shocked if he's even on our draft board.
  10. My point is that people are over hyping the hell out of this guy. He's big and runs fast. He has very little college production to look at. This isn't a guy who is a three year starter and two time All-American. He was just a guy in Missouri's offense and didn't play a single snap of football last year. I wouldn't even consider drafting him in the first three rounds with his off field concerns. But all the fanboys see is 6'6" with 4.4 speed and a couple of "analysts" compared him to Randy Moss which is insanely idiotic.
  11. Sigh... I'm not surprised though. You've proven time and again that you're dumber than a bag of hammers.
  12. Beasley looks like a beast to me. Von Miller clone except he's a lot stronger. 35 reps is ridiculous. If he doesn't go in the top 10 I'll be shocked.
  13. Beasley looks like a beast to me. Von Miller clone except he's a lot stronger. 35 reps is ridiculous. If he doesn't go in the top 10 I'll be shocked.
  14. Were they not running the triple option yet? They were definitely run heavy as hell, that's for sure. Meanwhile, DGB was playing at pass happy Missouri. He never led the team in receiving yardage and accounted for a little over 20% of Missouri's receiving yardage in his two seasons there. Calvin Johnson or Randy Moss... puleeeeeze
  15. Dave Gettleman values pass rushers over seemingly everything else in life and he just let a proven elite NFL pass rusher walk due to off field concerns. Y'all really thing he's going to spend a high draft pick on a WR who has significant off field concerns and is a pure potential pick? Yes, DGB is just potential, that's it. The guy has less than 1300 total receiving yards in college. That isn't proven production, that's potential. Next Calvin Johnson or Randy Moss? Please. Randy Moss had over 1800 receiving yards and 26 receiving TDs - yes, 26! - in his one season at Marshall. Calvin Johnson racked up just shy of 3000 receiving yards in 3 years at GT while playing a damn triple option offense. He had 1202 receiving yards his final season accounting for over half of GT's total receiving yardage.
  16. Also, LOL @ RavensInsider dude breaking yet more Panthers news. Dude is the best Panthers beat writer out there while actually covering the Ravens. How embarrassing is that?
  17. I wish you could combine Thompson and Williams. Either give Williams Thompson's athleticism or give Thompson William's attitude and nasty streak. You'd probably have a 1st round OT prospect.
  18. Also give a shout out to my hometown brewers in Morganton, NC. Catawba Valley and Fonta Flora. CV is the cooler spot to hang out, but FF easily has the better beer.
  19. I live in CO and everyone probably already knows most of the major ones (Oskar Blues, Avery, New Belgium, etc.) so I'll name some really good smaller ones. Cannonball Creek in Golden Mountain Sun in Boulder Living The Dream in Littleton Equinox in Fort Collins Dry Dock in Aurora
  20. And I agree with him. We lost no one of note while getting Ginn back, adding a savvy veteran CB, greatly upgrading special teams, and even though Oher and Martin aren't future HOFers they're better than Bell and Faucoult.
  21. Yike. Sub-230 or a pass rusher? You can get away with that in college, but in the NFL? Most of the top pass rushers last year in the NFL were 260+. In fact, there wasn't a single double digit sack guy last year who is listed at a playing weight lighter than 250. You have to get all the way down to #41 on the sack list to find a guy sub-250 and that's Seattle's Bruce Irvin who's still listed at 248. I just don't know where a 230ish pound pass rushing specialist fits in the NFL. This guy may be in for an all out free fall in the draft.
