Hell, I'd love for Lamar Jackson to land in Atlanta with a fat ass fully guaranteed contract via a trade with them parting with two 1st round picks.
-
I think so. I'd keep him and try to develop him as a backup. I just don't think our new staff sees anything in him. I mean, have they said a single word about the guy? It's like he doesn't exist.
-
I mean, he's messed up everything about this. There's nothing he hasn't messed up. When his career is said and done he probably would've had hundreds of millions more in career earnings all to try to save 3%.
-
Herbert? No. Herbert has one of the very best arms in the league and is significantly bigger to boot. I really don't see much of a physical comparison between Herbert and Stroud.
-
I think it's just that there are two really good, much more polished QBs available. Stroud and Young aren't Gabbert and Locker.
-
Agree with most everything you said but I'm honestly not sure if Corral is in the plans at all.
-
It's possible. I mean, that's basically Joe Burrow.

Quick: Tepper not pulling the strings

Josh Allen looked worse against far worse competition and if that draft was redone today he'd be the slam dunk #1 overall pick. -

I'd be fine with Richardson too. I wouldn't have the guts to make that pick though. If we take Richardson that would mean our very experienced QB coaching staff thinks he has what it takes and that they can develop him into an elite NFL QB and given his off the charts talent that would be exciting as hell. -
Hell, I'm just hoping we stop sucking. Field me a team that competes week in and week out and shows potential and I'll call this year a success.
-
Richardson's talent level is off the charts but drafting him ahead of Young or Stroud would take gigantic balls and there's a good chance it goes wrong. Then again, if he has what it takes and develops... oh wee mayne. You could be passing on a great one. I'm honestly glad it's not my call. I can fully understand the arguments for and against all of these guys. I think Young is the best QB right now. I think Stroud is probably the safest pick. Richardson is the grand slam or embarrassing strikeout. I honestly can't see that one going any other way.

Peter King: Panthers have no interest in trading #1 pick

Asks me a question then says he's not talking to me today. -

I hope she's right. Let the football folks decide. Hopefully he's like a lot of the Huddle who would be happy with whoever these guys land on. There's a sizeable Stroud contingent, a sizeable Young contingent, and then a large contingent of "please god just let whoever we draft be great" contingent.- 47 replies

Nope. I'm laughing at you. It sucks for Carson Strong. -
I just think folks around here are starting to set themselves up for disappointment with some very lofty expectations. I hope you're right, but damn... you're basically setting the bar at one of the best rookie seasons ever. Yeah, that's a LOT to ask.

Carson Strong at #6! Dude went undrafted. Didn't make an NFL roster. Currently in the USFL. LOLOLOLOLOL -

Even if we know who we want there's zero competitive advantage to letting that be known right now and the NFL would greatly prefer to keep some intrigue to the #1 overall pick for viewership. -
If he puts up those numbers as our 4th leading receiver we have the best offense in the NFL and Marshall leads the league in yards per catch. The Chiefs had the #1 passing offense in the league and their 4th leading receiver had 42 catches for 568 yards and 5 TDs. Jaylen Waddle led the league at 18.1ypc.

Evidently country strong doesn't translate to throwing a football with NFL velocity and he's country dumb too. -

Sure. I liked his talent. Still do. Who knew he was a conceited spoiled brat? How's Kyle Trask and his wet noodle arm looking? Word is he still can't even learn a playbook. -

Do you ever get tired of having the worst QB takes on the Huddle? Judging by how loud and proud you are of them, that's a resounding no. -

Not if someone comes along willing to offer a moldy ham sandwich for Corral. Stroud isn't even on the roster right now and according to most isn't in the catbird seat to be our pick at #1 and he might still be more likely to be on our roster this year than Corral. -
Just keeping in mind, there's only been four 4000 yard rookie QBs in NFL history. Yeah it's a pass happy league now and yeah there's an extra game but setting 4000 yards as the floor is asking a LOT.
-
That's what we're talking about here though. Arm talent.
-
Yeah, Mahomes is an absolute stud but his cannon of an arm is a big part of it. Burrow doesn't have as big of an arm, but the similarity that both of those guys share is that they can seemingly throw the exact same ball whether they're in a clean pocket stepping into it or running for their life falling away. I think Young has some of that in him and in terms of arm strength he's a lot more similar to Burrow than Mahomes.
