Yeah, there's a place for Shula on a coaching staff. That place just isn't as the OC.
-
No, it's not overall but in terms of specifically in game adjustments it is. Shula was at least good at developing the initial plan and carrying it through when it was working. But in terms of adjustments? His adjustments consisted of going to max protect with his checkdowns. That's it, that's all. The man could not adjust past the opening kickoff.
-
Have you forgotten all those years with Mike Shula? Shula was actually good at developing game plans. He looked brilliant when Plan A worked as drawn up. But he never even had so much the thought of a Plan B.

Joe Brady wasn't the problem. The offense came off the rails when Rhule got more involved and forced his vision of offense on Joe Brady with this "run more" approach. Funny how now that Brady is gone we can barely run the ball at all and oftentimes don't even try. I sure haven't heard Fatt Rhule throwing any shade at his old college buddy though like he did Brady.

Lacking 2nd and 3rd round picks due to stupid trades kinda forces our hand and makes us consider trade down options to get back some badly needed draft capital.

We should take Kyle Hamilton in the draft

I've been banging the FS drum for YEARS. But, when you don't have a QB and you don't have an OL you don't have the luxury of drafting a FS in the top 10 in a league driven by offense. -
With the Bucs very nearly losing to the Jets yesterday, I don't think they're going to be content to rest on their laurels going into the playoffs with that performance even if their seeding position is locked up going into game time.
-
He might have to be because decent candidate aren't even going to pick up Rhule's phone calls.

Fixing the OL- a painful proposition

I can't imagine CMC having much trade value at all given his injury issues. -
Sam Darnold can’t throw the ball past the line of scrimmage.

Not a single blitz. Simple straight up four man rushes on every snap. -
Yeah, I can't imagine anyone actually buying.

Is anyone even upset that we lost?
LinvilleGorge replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I didn't watch either. Honestly, there's not a single current NFL team that I would expect us to beat. -
Darnold... trade value... $19M due next year...

Sam seems like a nice guy. Fortunately for him he had the natural talent to parlay that into generational wealth. But holy poo he's a terrible QB. -
What are you going to do if Rhule turns it around next year?
LinvilleGorge replied to Fan01's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'll put the lid back on the airplane glue. -
It happened again. I dreamed on 12/30 that Sam Howell gets drafted by the Minnesota Vikings #31 overall. I'm assuming a trade for the pick was involved but that wasn't clear in my dream. I have a lot more doubt about this one, but just in case... you heard it here. Sam Howell to the Minnesota Vikings #31 overall.

Sam Darnold is so much worse with us than he was with the Jets.
LinvilleGorge replied to Mage's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly, we have a worse coaching staff than the Jets did. Gase and company would've accomplished more with this roster than Rhule and company. It's sad but it's true. Rhule is fuging TRASH. Not regular trash. Like dog park trash in August. Week old dog poo baking in 90+ degree heat day in and day out type of trash. -
You know it's bad when if you try to rack your brain for positive things to latch onto the best you can come up with is, "Well, maybe Charlotte will balk at Tepper's demands for money for a new stadium and he'll move the franchise giving the Carolinas a chance at a fresh NFL start at some point in the future."
-
He's a damn good WR. This team is just checked out.

Seriously, anyone voting for him to stay is just trolling.
