  1. I could see tossing in a 4th to move up to 30-33 maybe if someone is there but I don’t see us trading away significant picks again any time soon unless it was for an NFL player that could help us right away.
  2. Good luck to him. Seemed like a good dude. Went from one bad situation with the Jets to another with us.
  3. Hope so. He’s a better kicker than Pineiro, but he’s gotta stay healthy for that to matter.
  4. Ah, I was just going off profootballreference.com. Still, 315 is also a bit light for NT to my recollection. We’ll see. Maybe they have him add a bit more weight too.
  5. Hadn’t heard that. 300 lbs is very light for NT in a 3-4
  6. I feel pretty confident we’ll grab one of these FAs who have had success in the NFL. The good ones are past their prime but know how to play WR at a very high level. It’ll be good enough to give a rookie WB a dependable target while other young playmakers develop for the long term
  7. I’m guessing: Brown - McCall/someone not on the team - Tuttle Burns - Shaq - Chinn - Luvu/Haynes/Barno Horn - Woods - Bell - Jackson
  8. Yea, we didn’t get as good a value as we would have had we traded him to the Packers for the reported trade that was offered. But then we weren’t expecting to let him go. The only reason we did was because the deal wouldn’t have happened otherwise. Could we have given a 2025 first instead of a 2024 so DJ’s value was closer to a true first? Theoretically yea that would have been right, but I suspect we got the best we could given the circumstances. The Bears had the leverage and all things considered I think what we gave up was fair to both sides.
  9. I think his height is much less concerning than his build. Those three you mentioned weren’t toothpicks like Young. I dunno if he has the frame to bulk up some and be similar to Wilson or Murray, and Brees and Flutie were just naturally a little thicker than him though still not bulky. If Young survives long in the NFL at that size (size, not height) it’ll be a moderate surprise in my opinion.
  10. I think you’re saying talented when you mean athletic. He’s definitely the most athletic, but also easily the least talented of the top four right now. I’d still take him over Levis for sure, and Richardson could definitely learn all the QB stuff. But the one talent that’s hardest to get better at is putting the ball exactly where you want, and his ability to do that fluctuates wildly.
  11. Meh, we are presumably getting our franchise QB and it‘a not taking more than one pick in each of the next three drafts. Net loss of one this year, one next year and one in 2025. Didn’t like having to give up DJ but it had to be done. I thought the trade was really smartly constructed. Value was fair to both sides (someone did a draft chart value comparison the other day valuing DJ as a 1st round pick, resulted in the trade being slightly favorable for us) and we get our QB.
  12. The report was that we offered three firsts and two seconds but they required DJ and it was agreed upon that he would be the value of the final first round pick.
  13. It was reported that’s what the Panthers tried to do but the Bears wouldn’t do the deal without DJ
  14. Nothing groundbreaking here, states the obvious. Gist is that he seems positive about the trade.
  15. I think it’s all just smoke and mirrors in the offchance we can hustle the Texans into thinking that not only are we good with either of the top two guys but also might take the guy they want. Don’t see it happening but crazier poo has happened.
  16. Excellent write up, all very good and accurate points. Good content
  17. DJ is a bonafide #1. I think he’s legit starter, especially when he gets the ball in his hands he becomes elite YAC machine. But he’s not top ten or twelve in the league and I’ve seen multiple outlets claim as such. It won’t be easy to replace his production right away but I think not only will we obviously bring in at least a couple pass catchers in FA and the draft, and not only do I think new QB, coaching and scheme will allow a lesser WR to replace his production, but I also think that TMJ is ascending. He might not put up DJ’s usual 1200 yards this year but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he matches DJ’s usual TD production or even surpasses it. And I think Shenault is capable of more than those gd bubble screens that got wore out last year. At the very least some quick crossing routes and skinny posts which are similar in difficulty and skill set required but at least start beyond the los.
  18. I like Young a lot. Of course his twigginess is scary, much more so than his height. But his ability to extend plays is certainly next level. I think anorexic Russell Wilson is a good comparison, but Young might be better at reading the field and making quick decisions. He’s my second choice but wouldn’t be mad at all if that’s who Reich and a Fitterer choose, I’ll trust in Reich’s plan.
  19. If we go WR at 39 (and hope we can snag a top tier TE with the next pick) then Flowers or Downs would also be intriguing.
  20. I haven’t watched much, just got to 9, Parker Washington looks like a good target for the third round. Looks like a shorter DJ. Use 39 to get a TE and our third on this guy and maybe not much drop off in our receiving corps. Looks like a solid complement to TMJ. With a pick in the 4th or so maybe target a project burner to stretch the field.
