Before it becomes a topic of conversation this off-season
Jon Snow replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
We probably would not have been offered that much for the 2 when Rhule arrived. But that is water under the bridge. What matters is where we go from here. -

Under Rhule this team has done everything is could to delay the inevitable. Picking up retreads that never were instead of taking our lumps with a rookie draft pick. No bridge qb horseshit to screw up your draft order if the rookie fails. That's the only way to start a rebuild, a true rebuild. Hopefully next year they will figure that out. -
I'm starting to get interested in Frank Reich. I hope he's on the must interview list.

I saw that live. If the 49ers had any picks left they would be taking a qb this draft. They have no post Jimmy plan.

Maybe Teddy Bridgewater wasn’t that bad….

I hope they don't make a move for anyone honestly. You make Corral compete with your drafted qb and resign PJ to backup/start until one of the other 2 are ready. We're drafting another qb in the 2024 draft anyway so it's ride or die with Corral/PJ/Draft Pick next season and let the chips fall where they may. That's my vote. -
If season ended today which QB would you take.

We still need another young qb in the stable. I tend to agree with bpa but that depends on where we're picking and the cutoff between the top talent and the next level. It may not be around 15 or 16 this year. I have not cared enough to invest time on researching the top 100. -

I honestly don't care what the Bears do or really Fields for that matter because I'm a Panthers fan and Fields is not on our team. But I don't begrudge you being a fan so have at it. -

Let's see what the current iteration does with him besides run him like a running back. -

When have the Bears ever developed a qb? -

If you were going to take an OSU qb they should have taken a shot at Fields last year. I believe the OSU qb curse but Fields has the best shot at breaking it. The only problem he faces is he landed on the wrong team. Stroud I fear will not. -

While most likely true you gotta take one at some point and move on. If Corral (assuming he's here) cannot win the starting spot or backup role over (insert scrub vet here), or the new kid needs time or just isn't worth it, we are taking another qb next year. -

None of the above. Draft and develop our own qb. -

I get the impression that he is just trying to make the best of a bad situation. He's not afraid to tell the players what he truly thinks of their play regardless of their salary. He's also not afraid to start backups and practice squad players if he thinks they will play like they have backbone while the starters just go through the motions. -
Maybe because the rest of the team is bad? Apparently, according to drunk Troy Aikman he's been playing pretty well so who knows. But Arizona is another bad team.

I honestly don't think he cares. Partly because our QB/OC suck I assume. But he has shown this oh well attitude pretty much since the day he arrived. I remember Smith commenting on his lack of attitude or something like the back then. Maybe someone else might remember his quote. It was prophetic in hindsight. -

Hurney Magic! Am I right?! I never took DJ as the type of guy that really cared about being the best wr like a guy like SS. He's just a happy to be here type of guy like the rest of the team has seemed to have become. DJ Moore is a great receiver resigned to the fact that he is going to be on a bad team for a couple of more years. But he's paid to run the routes and catch the ball, especially when it hits you in the hands. As a vet he should be a leader and show the kids fighting for a job that you still give a damn on the field. -

It's about the same. But time will tell. -
Maybe they are thinking that they could trade him for more if he doesn't play because it would show the sucker's what he's actually worth? It worked before.

I don't know if he's that small or not but he's just small. Drew Brees looks taller lol. But on top of that he limits your offense which is enough for me. And the funny thing is initially predicted he would probably be the best of the bunch last year. That's before I started to watch him a little more this season. Then I noticed how Sabans offense was always in Shotgun. It became clearer from there. -

He's going to have be in an offense tailored to his size limitations the way Saban did. He's not built like Steve Smith who could take a hit. No matter how good he thinks he is the league will chew him up and spit him out. Were I a coach I would not hang my career on this kid.
