I have asked this question ever since his second season with the team. I have yet to get a valid answer.

They have their sights set on being the worst of all time. Unfortunately, they managed to win 1 game so that takes them out of contention this year. But there's always next season so keep the faith.

You can't take the cap because Cleveland keeps it. That's how fully guaranteed contracts work. There's no advantage to either team. Even if it were possible then the team would also have to pay the remaining guaranteed money the second the Panthers cut him. On top of that they would have to clear around 60M in order to sign him. Then turn around and cut him and absorb a 100M cap hit. What on earth says that is worth 2 1sts. It would finish this team off and be the laughing stock of the league for another 30 years.

His contract is fully guaranteed. The remaining money is accelerated and they have to pay remaining owed. How does that help them?

There is no way that you can make this work. For one thing half of the team would have to be cut to take on his contract even if they could unload it on our dumbass for even considering something so insane. You think 2 1sts is enough to compensate for that? I've heard some stupid id3as on this board but thos has to be the all time idiotic ideas I've ever heard of. It would make the Young blunder look normal.

We need someone to take him off our hands. The team will have to eat the cap hit when it immediately accerates to put them over the cap. The worst part will be when someone else gets cut to get them back under the cap and to sign his replacement. The hits ain't over yet.

Frank should have never sat him for that hail Mary. He should have shown the world that he could not throw it be making him throw it. That would have removed all doubt. Instead he let the speculation fester under the guise of an injury. They have been tiptoeing around it since he was drafted.

I don't see why not. This team is going nowhere. I would say to look for them to be playing backups soon but that's what they've done all season so far so that won't change. Maybe after they pull Bryce once again you might see Plummer a few games.

Well you see there's no exact science to predict success in the nfl. It takes a lot of luck in that category. Some you can tell fit the profile but that doesn't guarantee you anything. Teams are trying anything to improve their odds of success. You seen all the analytics and measuring they do on these players. It's still a crap shoot.

That's why we are where we are. It's OK the be a fan. It's not OK to think you know how to run the show and influence those that do.

It's a little different with each team but from what I've gathered it been the Panthers SOP for a long time now. Scouts are tasked to look for players that fit what the team wants in that player. It's not necessarily find the best CB because thats subjective. It's rather l9ok for the best CB that can do X or is a certain height or arm length or some other requirement and then rank those guys. It's different for every team.

That's how you would do things, like a fan. If you want professionals to make their own decisions then you have an accountant do the payroll and just watch the games from your luxury suite. Discuss the state of the team with the coach and GM after the season is over. Other than that stay the hell away from the team.
