  1. I have sawyer and Jalen Walker in my last mock--traded back to 28, took Sawyer, then grabbed walker with the second round--Walker is a Micah parsons to me....Id take Marshall's Mike Green too.
  2. Watching Ohio State Tennessee-Pearce (Tenn Edge) looks fast--not sure he is much of a drop off from Carter--and I love Jack Sawyer from Ohio State--think he will be a better pro than college player---can get to the QB and hold the edge--very disciplined from what I can tell. Howard (QB) looks like a solid NFL backup--one that could look to start in time.
  3. The Steelers seemed happy to get rid of him--I thought we got the best of that deal--nope. But D Jax was gone regardless, so it was def worth the look, even if we knew of his "issues." Sometimes a new environment will change that.
  4. That pick just sounds like us--reminds me of when we took Burns, actually. And Aussie, I have not looked into this yet, but there is a LB from Georgia (Walker) who gives me the Micah Parsons feel--a bit short (6-2) but he is a good athlete and can play from multiple spots...I would not take him in the top 10, however. Unless Hunter drops to us, lock in Graham (DT) or Carter (Edge) if we do not move back. In my view, if we could drop back about 10 spots, we could add a second. The worst thing about that is best described using Gettlemen's metaphor--"a Quarter is worth more than 2 dimes."
  5. This is a fluff article written simply by looking at OTC--I appreciate the view, but getting rid of Wonnum and Clowney is nonsensical. Even if we draft an edge, it takes a bit of time to develop. Rucker, Hardy, Charles Johnson--all were not that effective until year 3--We need a young edge while we have some veterans on the roster--and if we want a Peppers-like rookie edge, it is not happening this year. there are some solid players, however, but I don't see any Watts or Bosas.
  6. Three guys whose last names are difficult to spell--it just might work!!!
  7. So, if Coker and Moore are also no gos, do we run 3 TE sets and a slot WR? Asking for a friend.
  8. Agree--My crystal ball sees us finishing no worse than 4 if we lose out. I see the Giants (who play at Atlanta, Indy, and at Philly) with a chance of winning vs. Falcons or Colts. With a strong SOS, they would fall behind the Panthers. The Raiders could be tanking, but they are at home vs. Jax this weekend and are slight favorites--and their SOS is high. Jaxonvile, on the other hand, is ahead of the Panthers because they have the weaker SOS--but they finish with Vega$$ (see what I did there), Tenn at home, and Indy. Either Vegas or Jax has to win a game, leapfrogging the Panthers if they keep losing. Pull for Vegas to beat Jax--the jags have 2 winnable games after that. If the Panthers lose out, (Cards, Bucs, and Falcons), they likely pick third, could pick fourth. What does this scenario mean? 1. Giants (QB, probably Ward, but possibly Sanders). 2. Patriots (WR/CB Hunter) 3. Panthers (Hmmmm. One top QB on the board and the Raiders, Browns (perhaps), Titans, and Jets possibly needed QBs, I would expect some healthy offers--it will be interesting to see if the Raiders lose out for this reason alone.
  9. While I would take him, Pitts at #4 overall has underperformed. Then Atlanta takes a good RB in the first and then a QB (whose value was inflated) just after signing Cousins--I can't imagine a worst draft performance over the past 5 years even though their picks did not bust--they were just stupid from the beginning. Atlanta was supposed to win the South and they are struggling. We will go defense with the first two picks. I have been picking WR in my mocks, but after looking into it more, there might be good players on the board, but they are not the best value. A top 10 pick should be a difference maker. I am not an Evero fan--I think he gets outcoached a lot (like vs. Dallas), so the biggest addition we could make is the DC--I actually like the depth at edge, DT, S, RB, and LB in this draft. Not so much CB, WR, QB, or OL.
  10. There is a player from Bowling Green (Fannin?) who is right there--but the lack of difference-makers at TE (except maybe Brock Bowers last year) is lowering their stock a bit--Pitts at 4 to Atlanta, Noah Fant, Hayden Hurst, OJ Howard, Evan Ingram, Eric Ebron---to name a few--some solid players, but you can get solid TEs in round 3. I will go out on a limb---no TE in round 1 this year. I said it. By April, nobody will remember.
  11. bad year to need a WR--just put 5 on the roster who can get open and catch--add a stud TE. If we pick third, take Hunter as a WR.
  12. You are wise beyond your years to agree with me. I think Fields is the free agent with the most upside---I mean, you keep looking until your franchise qb is on the roster-we are all hoping that Bryce will grab it, but he has not yet.
  13. he is a sleeper--I am not good at predicting college QBs who succeed in the NFL, but this guy is going to change my luck. I just think he'd be a good fit here. 4th round, maybe 5th.
  14. On defense from last year, we lose Burns then Brown. Thompson is now probably done, and we misused Chinn, in my opinion, who is probably an average S in Washington now. I hoped to see development from Barno (injury) and Wonnum (injury until recently) and DJ Johnson, who has flashed at times. Clowney? His play has been decent to good, actually, but he is past the point of attracting the attention of the offensive coordinator, imo. Our DL is scary right now--time to move on from all of them--PFF scores are scary: A Robinson 54.6, Shy Tuttle 43.1, LaBryan Ray 38.2. Jewell? A 58.4 (which sounds about right) and Wallace is rated at 56.0. DJ Johnson is a 58.0. Barno (27 snaps, 2 pressures) is rated at 66.1 (small sample size, but encouraging). Safeties Jordan Fuller 52.1 and Xavier Woods is at 63.0. I mean, if get me some new shoes and limber up a bit, I might have a 100 yard rushing day against this defense. Analysis: Wonnum (61.9) and Barno have shown promise, and Jewell and Wallace might see improved numbers if the players in front of them were better, but we need an edge opposite Wonnum, a better S than Fuller, and a run stuffing ILB. We need a 3T and 2 DTs. We should try to re-sign Jackson. Needs (In my opinion on Dec 17, 2024): Edge Defensive Tackle (how about a NT type at about 330 lbs?) Defensive End (get rid of the Bama boys) Safety Inside Linebacker Corner
  15. Technically, Moton was the highest rated OL with a 60, while Damien Lewis was second with a 56 down through Cade with a 47. I very much agree with your points--and the lack of adjustment concerns me. It is like we are a one-trick pony and if you can take the carrot away, we go limp. This may sound crazy, but I think we could be doing a lot more with the TE position-I see other teams with established TEs lining up at wing and pulling on power, for example. I see them in the backfield. I see them blocking and releasing (chipping too) to create a checkdown--
  16. I am surprised to hear Ewers might go back---I would not advise him to do it. I do not like Milroe, but he needs another year, and NFL teams love that dual threat QB. It all depends on what skill sets you need--if I am running a zone read out of Pistol, for example, maybe. I realize that he is not rated high, and I would not take him until day 3, but Rourke has a quick release, a lot of college experience, etc. He brought Indiana into relevance. There is something there--he is my dark horse, late round QB.
  17. So people who do not share your opinions are stupid--is that what you are trying to say? Don't try it with me, son. I do not need a dolt tell me about watching college football--Now, your opinion was fine, but you had to turn it into a personal attack--only insecure people do that. I am going to post some big boards, and you are going to tell me how smart you are and how dumb everyone else is--let's go: Tankathon NFL Draft Buzz (Milroe average ranking 35.2, Ewers 45.2--that is early to mid second round) I agree with them. And yes, I watch college football. I played college football. Did you?
  18. Not saying that Bryce played well or is without blame, but the entire OL scored in the 50s or lower. The running game shut down--and the pass protection broke down. I watched Ickey try to block Micah Parsons without extending his arms, bending at the waist, like he was going to shoulder block him or something. You do not block him well with good technique, but how in the hell did his brain tell him, "Ick, here's what we are going to do..." Dumbassery!!! So when the OL prevents you from running and they suck in pass protection, it is hard to look good as a QB. Again, Bryce need to read the pressure and hit the open WRs. That pass to Thielen when Sanders was open tells me that he is predetermining who is going to throw to--not good.
  19. the better question: Who will have the longest career--Cam was about a decade--All it takes is one freak injury or the wear and tear starts setting in, causing you to do things differently (mechanics). then other injuries set it. Josh has been in it for 7 years--we shall see.
