That's a good point. To play devil's advocate it would make STs even more important but yea getting closer for less points does sound strange. I was thinking more about the difficulty of the play. I think 50+ yard FGs are pretty tough and if only those went for more points then I still wouldn't have a problem with it. I think extra points are wasted time anyway and not too many people would argue against TDs going for 7 flat.

I'd like something like this... Touchdowns are worth 7 points period. 0-39 yard FGs worth 3 points 40-49 yard FGs worth 4 points 50+ yard FGs worth 5 points Scoring would technically increase this way, which is what a lot of networks want. or All FGs under 50 yards worth 3 points and all FGs 50+ worth 4 points. Would actually make the kicking game interesting if they are intent with keeping that part of the game alive may as well make it interesting and make decisions on whether or not to kick the FG more impactful. It also never made sense to me that a 29 yard FG is worth the same as a 50+. or Just remove kicking altogether...no FGs and Start at the 25 yard-line after each score.

Life long fan here born in 84....was a Cowboy fan before Panthers....my dad is from Dallas so him and my younger brother still root for them but since I was born in the Carolinas I more than jumped on board when we finally got a local team.

That's been my thought since yesterday too. I honestly think he isn't very impressed with this draft overall so he is trying to get what he deems to be the can't miss players he could realistically get this year...given that we drafted so late in a weak draft.... I just don't think Gettleman was that happy with this draft overall, and he even said in his presser that they expected some of the Jrs. to come out but they ended up staying which hurt this draft...oh those little clues...Gman sure isn't Hurney/Fox.

Last year it was 23.5% actually but total not starters. 400/1696 That would be actually interesting and not a bad idea honestly....each round has a cap value added to it and you can opt to pick cap relief instead of a player. The question is...is that relief just for that year or what?

The way the picks fell it's almost as if GMan saw the future because damn...literally every pick in every round that I would have done were gone before our slot...so with his super powers he seemed to know that his picks would be gone by the 25th in each round and was like fug it I'm going in. For those mad at these trades....literally just look at each round and how it fell....almost literally every pick anyone wanted has been gone before our selection in each round...I dare say we HAD to move up to get these guys.

Damn gonna be nothing but UDFA quality by the time we pick next haha.

This is Dave Gettleman saying fug this draft...this draft is weak so he's going quality over quantity...and the way the picks are going....we wouldn't have gotten who I wanted anyway so it's whatever...even in the 4th doods are coming off the board that would have still been here in the 6th if it's last years draft.... Seriously Crowder is great and I love/wanted him...but in the 4th? This draft is weaker than I thought.

Considering how this draft played out (everyone I would have wanted in the 3rd was gone by our pick) I am completely fine with the trade now...it's just hope for the best since I wouldn't have been in position to get what I would have done anyway so maybe Gettleman is really that good.

This is one of the weirdest drafts that I can remember....it's pretty bleh and definitely lacks depth and name recognition and I watch tons and tons of CFB. The way every team has random ass players ranked all over the place I really do wonder if the depth of this draft is just the later round guys...as in more late round grades but can still get a 4th or 5th round rated guy in the 7th rather than having tons of 1st round grades you can get in the 2nd.

Well the trade is sitting a bit better for me now since Smith and Fisher were both gone by the 57th pick...can't be as mad now...and we may have stolen the aints player...they totally reached on their pick.
