My suggestion would be to ask a lawyer recommended by a friend or someone you know to write a letter essentially threatening them with a lawsuit if they didn't make it right. Then I would advise the venue you have obtained legal counsel, you want to give them another opportunity to do the right thing, and, if necessary, an avenue along the lines of a lawsuit would probably commence. There's always the local news "5 On Your Side" thing as well as Google and all sorts of other online reviews, FB posts, etc. which could really kill business for them. You have a lot more weapons than you think. Just need to commit a couple hours a day to make calls, post negative feedback, etc.

Last Time Out: The Canes had their 11-game win streak and 17-game point streak snapped on Tuesday night in New York City, falling to the Rangers in a close contest. Carolina led 3-2 going into the third period but a three-goal frame for the Rangers ultimately pulled them out on top. Pyotr Kochetkov made his first start since December 20 and while Rod Brind'Amour said post-game that he'd likely want a few of the goals back, it was just the second regulation loss of his NHL career through 18 games. New Career-High Necas: One of Carolina's three goals on Tuesday came from Martin Necas, who set a new career-high with his 17th of the season. #88 had previously had 16 in two prior seasons, but now in just his 38th game of the year, he's already moved on to brighter pastures. The goal also now gives him points in six consecutive games. Burns Is Buzzin': Since December 1 Brent Burns leads the Canes with 14 points in 15 games. Entering the contest on a four-game point streak of his own, Burns' 28 points pace all team defenders through 38 games. Noesen Questionable: Forward Stefan Noesen left Tuesday's game during the first period after suffering a lower-body injury. He attempted to return for the start of the second period but was ultimately ruled out. He was the only absentee from Wednesday's practice and following Rod Brind'Amour said that he thinks the forward will be all right, but they wouldn't know more about his availability for Thursday until the day of. Pacioretty A Possibility: With Noesen not on the ice at Tuesday's practice, Max Pacioretty skated alongside Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Derek Stepan. Pacioretty has been working his way back from a torn Achilles suffered in August and last week Rod Brind'Amour said that his return could be possible within the next ten games. The Head Coach was also quick to say that Stefan Noesen's availability wouldn't dictate whether or not Pacioretty's debut and that the team wouldn't just put #67 in if Noesen can't go. Father Finn The Star: The NHL revealed its Stars of the Week Monday afternoon, naming Antti Raanta one of them. The netminder went 3-0-0 with a 1.30 goals against average and a .944 save percentage last week. The 33-year-old veteran has now won his last seven decisions, dating back to November 25, and has improved to 10-2-2 on the season. Kochetkov's Great December: Antti Raanta's honors on Monday came fewer than 24 hours after his current goaltending partner, Pyotr Kochetkov, was named the league's Rookie of the Month for the month of December. The 23-year-old went 7-0-1 in December with a 1.63 goals against average and a .939 save percentage. On The Other Side: Nino Niederreiter and the Nashville Predators come to town 4-3-3 in their last ten contests. A relatively accurate description of their entire season, the Preds have struggled to score goals this season. Their 98 goals for are the fourth-fewest among all 32 NHL clubs, but their saving grace is that they are just outside the top ten for the fewest goals allowed (109). Niederreiter has 21 points in 35 games this season, most recently producing three assists in the team's win over Montreal earlier this week. CANES INJURY UPDATES Forward Ondrej Kase has been in concussion protocol since October 13. He has recently taken part in team practices and morning skates since December 16 in a no-contact jersey, but there is no current timetable for his return. Goaltender Frederik Andersen suffered a lower-body injury on November 6. He has been practicing with the team since December 8, but there is currently no timetable for his return. Rod Brind'Amour has said, "We're waiting for him to say that he feels 100%. He won't play until then." Forward Max Pacioretty suffered a torn Achilles tendon in August. He has been skating for over a month now and just this week graduated from the no-contact sweater he had been working in. Originally expected to return in February, Rod Brind'Amour said last week that it is possible Pacioretty joins the lineup within the next 10 games, giving an approximate benchmark of a game at some point prior to, or, on January 19 vs. Minnesota ________________________________________________________________ Bottom line, as I suspected, Max can now skate with the starters, can lose the non-contact sweater and is able to fully participate now that he's off the injury roster. That's a long way from being in the lineup tonight, which won't happen. I think we see 11-7 tonite.

I'm just gonna leave this here. Steve Smith had a longer career than any of the other 3 WRs, played more games, more receiving yards, 1 TD behind Reggie Wayne, 2 time AP Comeback Player of the Year and AP Offensive Player of the Year. The only reason I can imagine Wayne and Holt are listed before Smith is the fact they both have a SB ring. And none of his kick or punt return stats are even mentioned in his HOF package. They aren't considered for WRs, although Devin Hester is listed as a WR/KR/PR in his HOF package.

I would expect him to be a healthy scratch for a couple games before he starts seeing limited ice time. It may still be several games before he gets back to his usual ice time.

I don't own a named sweater for that very reason. But I have grown to learn that having former players sweaters isn't a bad thing- there are plenty of them every night at PNC. I've seen Irbe, Whitney, Ward, RBA, you name it.

Can anyone here name every QB the Panthers drafted since joining the NFL without looking? While you try to think of them, I'll save you the time: Kerry Collins, Colquitt, Weinke, Fasani, LeFors, Pike, Clausen, Newton, Grier, Corral. 10 drafted QBs, 1 good one. Maybe 2 if you count the first couple years of Kerry Collins stint in Charlotte. And I guess the jury is still out on Corral, so the team has a roughtly 10% success rate at drafting QBs, far worse when they've drafted from a position of desperation. And, here's another thing- it's not like any of these guys were even average or serviceable- they were fugging terrible. And yet, here we are, continuing to pin hopes and pipe dreams on another drafted QB to lead the Panthers to the promised land. Why waste the time and money? Take all the guess work out of it and just go get Derek Carr for a 2-year deal and see if Corral develops in the meantime.
