Let's not forget the Canes beat NY 3 out of 4 times during the regular season and the one loss was a shutout by Georgiev (backup goalie). That being said and in keeping with the thoughts posted, one need only look at the ridiculous disparity of penalties called on the Rangers vs anyone else they play and realize that's why they are where they are. They have a very good power play and they get more of them than anyone else.

By the way... Alex Lyon is a really bad goalie.

I'll try to catch all of them if that happens... or I'll save them.

Never mind, I got the AHL TV app, but the playoff package is $30 and looking at the schedule I'll probably miss at least 3 games this series... YouTube highlights will have to do it for me...

Where can I see the AHL games?

I tend to believe this is a lot of legal and financial tap-dancing that will allow everyone to get their place at the table and the projects gets finished sooner or later. -

I know business property owners in my city who have a different LLC for each property they own, thereby protecting all their other properties if one tanks. Matter of fact I was doing some title work yesterday for a local commercial building owner who has 6 buildings downtown, and for each of them the property owner is the address LLC, for example, "123 Main St., LLC." There's no limit to the number of LLCs you can create and they're all separate entities. -

Hi there, I'm the code enforcement administrator for a mid-size municipality here in NC. Every city and town in the state has a set of local ordinances that regulate everything from grass height to noise ordinances to public nuisances to parking to nuisance vehicles. It's called zoning, planning, code enforcement, etc. I'm the guy responsible for ensuring the proper legal notices are issued and nuisance abatement by our contractors is done properly and providing all the information to the accounting folks so they can properly bill the property owner. I have 5 inspectors who each have an assigned area within the city and they issue notices on a daily basis for this kind of crap. -

Well, if the parcel is owned by same real estate holding company that's filing bankruptcy, the city will have to initiate a legal notice ordering the property owner to remove it as a public nuisance. And because of the bankruptcy, the property owner probably won't comply with the order to remove it, so it will fall on the shoulders of the taxpayers as the city will have to contract someone to tear it down. The cost of the tear down then becomes due and payable by the property owner to the city and if that bill isn't paid, it becomes a lien against the property. The city then goes to court with a lien foreclosure on the property and takes ownership of it. -

I'd bet they don't make a decision on Gardiner until they figure out TDA, Bear, Cole and Smith. They get TDA and Bear signed, they can afford to buy out Gardiner and pick up a couple blue liners to fill out the roster. Cole and Smith are both 33 and will not likely be back. -

My sleeper left wing: Mason Marchment, Florida Panthers. 47 points in 54 games this season at a $800k salary. -

If the Canes decided to make this move, it would mean letting both Trocheck and Domi walk. Although Trocheck I think will get a nice payday elsewhere regardless, Domi is a better C then a winger. This could either backfire big time or make a very nice #2 line. It also means the Canes would have a little wiggle room to sign a FA winger, which is a little cheaper than a center. The Canes projected cap space today is a little over $19k. -
I was still on active duty serving with Carrier Group Seven out of San Diego when the original was filmed. Let's just say Mr. Cruise, at the time, was pretty much a dick. He rode his motorcycle around the base at Miramar and was pulled a few times for speeding (most bases are posted 25 & 35 everywhere). Some of the carrier scenes the ship had to maneuver to catch the sun just right for the shot or get the wind in a certain direction... I was still competing in triathlons at the time and I would ride by the house they used for Kelly McGillis's character. It was moved down the block from where it was built to make room for a beachfront promenade, but here's a pre-move story: I was in San Diego just 2 weeks ago to see my father and I took my wife to see the other famous location- where the Top Gun CO lived, which is the Coast Guard San Diego Lighthouse property: This is where it is on Point Loma:

https://www.nhl.com/news/carolina-hurricanes-jordan-staal-plans-to-play-final-season-of-contract-before-deciding-future/c-334420904 RALEIGH, N.C. -- Jordan Staal will not seek an extension with the Carolina Hurricanes ahead of the final season of his contract. "I'm going to ride out this contract," Staal said. "Eleven years is a long time here and it's been special. I'm going to ride it out next year and hopefully finish with a bang and go from there." The center has one season remaining on a 10-year, $60 million contract ($6 million annual average) he signed July 1, 2012. Staal was acquired by the Hurricanes from the Pittsburgh Penguins on June 22, 2012 for the No. 8 pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, center Brandon Sutter and defenseman Brian Dumoulin. The trade united him with his brother, Eric. The Staal brothers played together with the Hurricanes until Eric was traded to the New York Rangers on Feb. 28, 2016. "It's been a great ride obviously," Staal said. "I came down here obviously to play with Eric and really be a part of the Carolina Hurricanes club, and (I) came down here to win. It's been a ride. Obviously a lot of ups and downs. As of right now, it's been a lot of fun on the ice and the players we have. It's been a blast." ------------------------------------------------------------------- One more season as the captain. And I'll be the first to admit I was very wrong about his skill set this season. I thought he was ready to retire and that his physical skills may be waning, but I was wrong. This guy took his line to a completely different level this past season. Much respect, Jordo.

Only one of those will be back- Nino. And he's not built to be a "closer" playing where he is on the grinder line. Necas got benched during the season when he slumped and apparently took on an attitude to go with it. If I'm looking to move someone, he's probably near the top of the list. -

When MillionDollarCam mentioned this, I was thinking he was the play before the trade deadline. I think it was around the same time that TDA was out with the injury. -

We'll have to agree to disagree. The issues with forwards and goalies are more concerning to me than the blue line when it comes to the cap. -

RBA opted for experience over youth in the post-season. Cole was horrible and Smith us a little something once in a while. He didn't play Lorentz either, until he had no choice. RBA and his staff have always been pretty high on Bear, and have made plenty of comments to that effect over the course of the season. Defense isn't what ended the Canes season this year, but hey, it's your observation and opinion. -

Their top 4 are Slavin, Pesce, Skjei and TDA. The experts tend to disagree with your assessment of Bear, but we'll see. -
The team's feelings about KK are they signed him to an offer sheet with $4.82M for the next 6 years. He's a C and that's where he'll be next year. RBA did everything from benching him to tweaking lines to playing him at both wings to see what works. And, apparently, nothing has. RBA has to be frustrated, and Necas's future in Raleigh depends on how frustrated. Drury will be on the roster next year. The issue is he's only a center and has no experience on the wing. He'll stay in Raleigh next year if Domi isn't re-signed.

I don't agree with screwing around with a group of blue liners that aren't the problem. Cole (UFA) and Smith (UFA) are both gone with Bear (RFA) and Chatfield stepping up. TDA gets a new deal and the decision needs to be made on Jake Gardiner. Defense: Slavin, Pesce, Skjei, TDA, Bear, Chatfield and add 2 more (Gardiner, LaJoie, Keane, FA) Trocheck will get paid more than the Canes can afford and he'll be gone. Derek Stepan is also gone. I think both KK and Domi are better centers than wingers. Domi may be one of the best distributors of the puck on the team. He sees all the ice and there is a very noticeable difference in his play when he's at center versus wing. If Domi is the odd man out, Drury will replace him. Centers: Aho, Staal, Domi, KK Every one of the wingers under contract will be back next season. Nino gets a new contract while both Lorentz and Necas are both question marks. RBA has tweaked lines, benched and done just about everything imaginable to get Necas going. It's safe to say the future of Necas in Raleigh is somewhat dependent on just how frustrated RBA is. Lorentz, because he was a healthy scratch for a good part of the playoffs, maybe gone as well. Although he started to show some grit, it was toward the end of the season and, with his size, it needs to be part of his game- every game. Fowards: Svech, TT, Martinook, Fast, Jarvis, Nino and add 2 more (Noesen, Leivo, FA) -
Thought there was an off-season thread to keep up with this. That being said, I'll post over there....

How many times are we going to lose in the second round.
Anybodyhome replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
The Canes took 2 teams to 7 games with a 32-year old career backup goalie. The only way NY could score was on the PP and Carolina kept giving them those opportunities. And, while we're on that subject, the officiating was inconsistent, to say the least. Raanta was shell shocked from the previous game when he was pulled- I said that 2 days ago and I also said I'd be very surprised if Carolina could come back from that. Raanta was done after game 6- his confidence was gone.
