A reach-around?

He'll be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, so he's playing to get paid. Even if he does get traded, he'll be handed a contract either when the trade is done or at the end of the season. So, if anything, he should be playing his best right now, regardless of what team he's on now, at the TDL or the end of the season. He's literally putting his paycheck on the ice every night.

So now I have to question the news that he suffered rib fractures, both displaced and non-displaced fractures.

I had a schedule conflict with the wife. I could have watched most of the game over my shoulder or ducking out to check my phone, but decided just to keep an eye on my phone occasionally and discreetly. I may watch the replay today or just the highlight reel.

Ha! You went on about how a coach is only as good as his QBs and how no coach is winning with Pickett and Rudolph, thereby providing an excuse for Tomlin's down year while claiming he is the type coach Carolina needs. If Tomlin can't win with Pickett or Rudolph, both of whom are arguably better than Young, why should anyone believe otherwise?

Staying away from tonight's game. I'll not be watching. If they win, which I highly doubt, I'll check out the highlights tomorrow.

No coach is winning with Bryce Young. So why do I want him here?

Yeah.. Highly doubt his return now with the holiday break coming. He'd be on limited minutes and Carolina will be lucky to get 3 points out of the remaining 6 this week. After the new year.

Holiday break I see the Canes headed into the holiday break at 17-14-3 and 37 points, probably dropping to 5th in the Metro. Don't see them getting past Vegas or the Islanders, but probably squeaking out a victory against an old and tired Pittsburgh team. That's it guys. They'll have played 34 games with 48 left on the schedule. Who knows, maybe Freddie comes back strong and Svech stays healthy and brings some fire to the team. To be honest, they look like they're going through the motions and believing somehow this whole thing will shake out and they go on a 10 or 12-game bender and make a playoff run. But, if we're being honest, there's no reason anyone in the league needs to fear this team.

Tonight's game was a clear display put on by a team who will be asking questions after they don't make the playoffs. All they need to do is watch this game. It'll answer all those questions.

That goal shows you where this team is lacking on D. It's not the back end, it's forwards not staying with their man. Burns had his guy and Necas goes to the same guy leaving the middle open and bumps into Burns along the way. That's on Necas.

Regardless of the current state of goalies in Raleigh, the fact this team decided to keep both Anderson and Raanta after last season raised my level of concern. Not sure about the rest of you, but I was fairly certain with both of their injury concerns that at least 1 of them would be gone. Am I surprised this is where we are right now? Hardly.
