  1. There were superior choices available, not my choice but I can understand and respect it.
  2. Reich is the more experienced and successful HC. It would be Reich/Wilks. We definitely can have both if we play our cards right. They both love NC, live here full or part time, so the rest should be easy.
  3. All former Panthers. Our roots run deep. Where would Melo be today if the Panthers hadn't drafted his dad. In return the young Ball is here building a legacy. Small world.
  4. Reich being hired will be a turning point away from the depths of the sea where Jets and Dolphins reside. Maybe the Panthers are trying to pair HC Reich to assistant HC Wilks thus both getting 2nd interviews close together. Reich will make Corral the QB the Panthers knew he could be when they stole him in the third, definitely. No better coach/NFL QB mentor than Reich, Harbaugh, Payton. We need one of those former QBs for the QB position going forward, we will now have an in house QB expert which we've lacked like forever.
  5. I'll take it. Reich would be an instant upgrade at coach. As we saw with Wilks, an actual NFL head coach would have had this team performing years ago. No more time to waste. Plug and play Reich.
  6. I know we're on the road to Jetsville but I don't have to go down that road with the unwise singing in unison. The Jets like to hire "new hots" and not guys like Payton or Harbaugh. That's the reason we'll all sit here 20yrs while Tepper and the "new hot" "flip the applecart" crowd will soon be on to their next "new hot" coach in another three years and he'll get the next "new hot" coordinator to replace the last guy. Sorry, I don't trust Tepper and company with this decision they don't create their destiny they wait for scraps, indecisive, erratic and go along as if blindfolded.
  7. Stop it. It does mean something. If Sean Payton is sincere THAT means something also, that this is an attractive job.
  8. I'm sure Fitterer prefers to find and make a coach. Nothing in the past says that they shouldn't hand the keys over to an experienced regime. Fitty, Tepper and your plan to make a head coach like you did Rhule, cease and settle! Hire a professional head coach, we're already too far behind and the fan base and the NFCS need to know the Panthers now mean business and are not taking prisoners. Fitty trying to feel like he's earned his check banking on a OC experiment possibly to the detriment of the franchise record and status?! Mistake. Can't afford it. Let's put the franchise back together, experiment later. Harbaugh 2023
  9. "The Carolina Panthers are a bottom feeder NFL franchise. We're barely even "mediocre". I agreed until there and I fell off the track. One of the best coaches anywhere in football Mr. Jim Harbaugh had the Panthers as 1a,b if he was to leave Michigan. Like Harbaugh or not the fact that he WANTED this job above many others proves that this is a great job and a great location and until Tepper mismanagement a proud middle of the pack, sometimes good/great team. The Tepper years make us look like bottom feeders. His ineptitude is being projected onto a once proud franchise. He shouldn't be searching when the right guy basically walked up to the door, but you're looking over his shoulder at Sean. Smh.
  10. And unfortunately WE get what David Tepper thinks we deserve and it ain't no winning NFL team or the best coach who was available, who wanted the Panthers job and was probably told they needed to sniff a bunch of lesser coach butt before they decided if they wanted such an accomplished head coach to lead their franchise out of the depths of the sea and back on course to scare the crap out of the NFCS . This is a guy very familiar with college kids, the guy who designed offenses and groomed Andrew Luck and one read Kaepernick. His .695 NFL win percentage from four years with the niners remains almost the SAME today at .691. This very coach had his people get in touch to tell the Panthers he was sincere about wanting the Panthers HC job before almost all the 32 teams and obviously didn't feel the love...unless it's a smoke screen
  11. This belongs here: Steichen isn't going to come in and bully anybody. He's going to have to take his lumps and pay his dues. He will be analyzed and broken down to his base elements and he'll have to adjust every time. Instead of being responsible for one position group it will be a whole team and every detail associated with it. Is he a guaranteed bonafide HC? No. A lot of hope going into unknowns around here. It's unfair to demand instant results from a guy who hasn't done the job yet. You want what you want but if exactly what you want included a learning curve and getting out coached before not getting out coached while the loss column continued to multiply, will the hot new next coordinator up continue to get the same support from the "hot new" crowd? These are probably the same folk that were happy with Matt Rhule tearing thing up until they realize... he's tearing things up. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Matt Rhule was the "hot new" the media put up on a pedestal. Jim Harbaugh was the guy Vegas thought the Panthers would hire. 4 years later, where's that "new hot"? Sean Payton has the experience this team needs. Not the correct choice, too costly so... Harbaugh 2023
  12. Ok. Give me results. Results on the field since he has owned the team? I beg to differ, the product on the FOOTBALL field has continued to regress and he refuses to do sane and rational things.

  14. 5-6yrs and the dumb moves and non moves keep coming. The honeymoon is well over. This is who we've got. He's far far from mastery of anything football.
  15. I agree with everything everybody has said about Greg here. My only bone to pick is on his last broadcast calling the Panthers the other guy was biased as f'. When the other squad scored he was effusive every time. When the Panthers scored the booth went silent, so much so I was expecting Greg to at least say "TD, yay!" but nothing, silence like his hating broadcast buddy. That day Greg was NOT a Panther. If it ain't true holla @ me G Reg
  16. Myles Murphy because Harbaugh, Payton or Reich would be a great coach/QBmentor for Corral. One of those three and the scenario you pointed out could pay off big time.
  17. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ If the Panthers were smart he would be hired here, where he wanted to coach. I'm hoping beyond all hope that David Tepper will reverse course because he realizes that Payton isn't serious and would be too costly. It's a cry for common sense from the senseless. Yes I agree. Until a coach is hired the man who wants the job needs to be seriously considered instead of obviously lesser coaches. We got Cam back. Golden Corral... Yes. Until the fat lady sings.
  18. I get why Tepper wants Payton but his resume is worrying as you pointed out. I don't want to continue to harp on the contrast between Harbaugh and Payton:-) but in four years at San Francisco he won 3 conference championships and a 3pt loss in the Superbowl. Much better consistency and dominance in a four year NFL sample size. Compared to a blip on Sean Paytons career and a couple close calls. I'm using Mr Harbaugh, who wants to coach the Panthers as an example of exactly what you want in a veteran coach. Results. Wins. Tepper seems to be more interested in his own personal taste. Not results based hires. Steichen is a hope and dream. Hopefully he will, but he may not. HC is a huge jump you've got to have a great staff and system in place day one or you're already behind in the NFL.
  19. Hi newb! My picks remain the same. Been on the Harbaugh train well before they hired Matt Rhule.
  20. He had no TE help. Tremble, Thomas are better than the TE they brought up from their practice squad. We have better receivers and tight ends and a better o line. This offense has more weapons than young Daniel has ever had. He had coaching changes, Gettleman f' ups. NO he didn't have better in NY. He'd be a better player with this squad and he really stepped up his game.
  21. Corral was projected to be a late first rounder. Not even I will put him in the Maye or Newton category. Purdy is playing lights out so writing off a guy who was dominant in the SEC, projected late first rounder who dropped to the third because of non football reasons and has yet to play in the NFL as a "bust" or a non-starter is, in light of a guy like Purdy premature here in 2023. Corral was considered a steal because the Panthers had him at the top of their QB board before the draft and they spent draft capital to get him. They want him to succeed.
  22. Daniel Jones pretty much said he'll explore free agency. Lot's of people here hate on Daniel Jones but he never had any receivers or TEs of mention in NY. Daniel Jones probably looks over here and sees DJ, Terrace, Tremble, Thomas and salivates all of better caliber than anyone he had in NY.
