  1. I think Dan Morgan sent a message new day and new sheriff in town Perhaps Tabor was in the wrong side of that story id rather have Campen go…it’s not like that oline has been gang busters time for a new set of eyes on them for scheme needed…not necessarily replacement but repositioning also
  2. Per Adam Schfeter Panthers informed their interim head coach/special teams coordinator Chris Tabor that he will not be retained despite the two years that he has left on his contract and he now is free to seek employment elsewhere, per source.
  3. Ok well if you want to spin or feeL negative, feel negative tepper’s tale of the tape does that However, It’s amazing how many NFL coaches are dumbasses by that simple measurement …even knowing coaching 101
  4. Really positive take We could use a little positivity https://x.com/jamespalmertv/status/1750937745122271549?s=61&t=GQi76s6QPYbghkf3OPMywA
  5. I feel its time to move on from Campen give that offense a total fresh start and a fresh look at those linemen
  6. excerpts below While Dave Canales lacks experience, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator had two things that helped him stand out in a field of 12 candidates: a history of resurrecting quarterbacks and close ties to new Panthers general manager Dan Morgan. …. But the Panthers needed someone to get quarterback Bryce Young turned around, and it became increasingly clear they weren’t going to land Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. Canales’ track record with struggling quarterbacks is encouraging. Geno Smith won the AP Comeback Player of the Year in 2022 when Canales was the Seahawks’ quarterbacks coach and the Bucs’ Baker Mayfield is a finalist for the award this year. There’s a rich irony that the Panthers hired Canales in part for his work with Mayfield a year after they released him when interim coach Steve Wilks decided to play Sam Darnoldover Mayfield. The Panthers stayed in touch with Young’s representatives throughout the search. A source close to Young and his representation said the No. 1 pick is optimistic about Canales and likes that he’s young with a strong track record with quarterbacks. Smith and Mayfield had career years with Canales, with Mayfield throwing for 4,044 yards and 28 touchdowns in the regular season before leading Tampa Bay to a wild-card win over Philadelphia. The Bucs’ offensive numbers overall weren’t stellar. They were last in the league in rushing, 23rd in total offense and 20th in scoring (20.5 ppg), but finished 17th in passing. Tampa Bay managed just 228 yards and three field goals in a 9-0 win at Carolina in Week 18, when Morgan and Canales spent a few minutes catching up before the game at Bank of America Stadium. The Bucs’ offense fared better in Canales’ first meeting against Carolina and Evero, whom the Panthers hope to retain. Evero interviewed for the head-coach opening in Atlanta and remains in the mix for the position in Seattle. But he’s under contract with the Panthers, who can block him from taking a lateral move. Personnel executives and other officials around the league said they’ve heard good things about Canales but don’t know much about him because of his relative inexperience. As recently as 2020, Canales was helping out with the Seahawks’ tight ends as the team’s passing game coordinator. Former Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, who was in Seattle that year, recently posted on X that he “spent a lot of time talking ball and philosophy” with Canales. If Canales is successful in putting Young on a path to success, Tepper will look like a genius for hiring him before anyone else was considering it. If Young fails to thrive in Canales’ system — which, like Thomas Brown’s, is an offshoot of Sean McVay’s — Tepper will be blasted for hiring one of Morgan’s buddies and pairing an inexperienced head coach with an inexperienced GM. Essentially, Canales has one job. And no one in the organization can afford for him to screw it up.
  7. Sometimes you have to read the book to the end their offense and baker got exponentially better as the season went on post Tom Brady no one saw the Bucs in the playoffs the guy trained under Pete Carroll. I suspect he learned a thing or two he made Wilson, Geno, and Baker Mayfield better Wilson and Mayfield are not prototypical big QBs so he will have some concept of what to do with our midget he will run a simple offense which should mean ball out of young’s hand quickly As far as exper, The Dolphins coach wasn't highly sought after either … he’s done ok plus the Panthers had a lot of experience last year lol there should be no mismatch between the GM and HC now, if only he could bring Evans and Godwin with him….lol time will tell in any case
  8. Canales managed to make Baker relevant again there are similarities with Yoing and Baker Smaller size. Not great arm strength etc better rolling to see the field might as well hope as not i do not believe young is the answer in the nfl but maybe improved this year with a simpler offense designed for him vs against as Einstein said paraphrased ‘if you expect a fish to climb a tree, you will always be disappointed’
  9. No surprise given the History with Morgan yes he’s new to HC but he did get more out of Baker than anyone else he also is an intra divisional hire so he knows the other teams..,conversely, they know him…. Hopefully. Mike Evan’s comes with him lol
  10. From John Ellis Let me connect a few potential dots: Titans VP of Player Personnel Ryan Cowden was in Carolina's front office during Dan Morgan's playing days. Recently, Tom Pelissero reported Mike Vrabel prefered Cowden as Titans GM: "Tennessee hired Carthon a year ago over in-house candidate Ryan Cowden, whom league sources believed to be Vrabel’s preferred candidate."
  11. Cam has seven, count them, 7 kids in Atlanta plus his parents live there can’t blame him as he is involved in their lives apparently love cam but his time is done in the league In any case …besides, do you really think he wants part 2 of David Tepper
  12. To be fair, his podcast was about Young finally showing that he gave a damn as his body language and Fire is not very inspiring to his teammates several in the locker room said they were glad to see it frankly, I was a bit surprised to see the C on Youngs jersey from Day 1 as he had done zero to earn it and still hasn’t
  13. I like Tim. Hard to argue with his logic, or anyone’s, on the situation the franchise is where it is. im not a fan, at all, of the Bryce Young pick His stature and arm strength simply do not translate to the nfl but he is here A lot was spent for him …so, fix a few things, give him some weapons, if this year is no better, fish or cut bait, and the bait is Young I see him as not in the league after his contract expires Who knows, maybe he will fool me now, Morgan, if he was part of the young mess, may very well be next…or he might not have been…but for this year, he has to try and make it work and if he was smart, he made no promises
  14. Agree i took the time to look at some of his interviews on YouTube. Very level headed. Calm guy. His takes on offense and how to run it are simple, common sense, adaptable to all situations of common sense and execution Smart he also knows how to get TEs involved god knows, with Young at Qb, something needs to happen that is not overly complicated or exotic he made baker look good….having Evans, Godwin and a decent oline helped I get people like exotic offense like McDonald’s but they are sitting home. all the other offenses are not overly complicated
  15. I read two days ago that the Commanders were flying a full contingent via private jet to Johnson for an interview you know, sometimes, not getting what we think we want is a blessing I get the guy is a fine coordinator…he also has exceptional players around him who execute at a high level …but what makes that team go is Campbell… there is no telling how a coordinator will do as a head coach or a headcoach who holds onto coordinator duties…the successful ones, can be counted on one hand besides all of that, what would benefit Johnson to come here …maybe it’s too many issues for him when his path could be much smoother in DC
  16. No i have one year left on contract. I’m finished …trying to move this last year i have great seats in the shade and a lot 1 parking pass I hate giving them up but it’s over for me
  17. He had said in previous interviews that he wanted to be a GM So, maybe when Dan got it over him, he said ‘I’m out of here’ I don’t see how he was that good with contract manipulation but that’s me
  18. I read it as well…I saw it in twitter bit I thought it was on pantherswire or some such
  19. Scott fowler on Dan Morgan Dan Morgan, the new guy in charge of the Carolina Panthers’ personnel, just performed his first near-miraculous maneuver. He’s going to need to perform a second one to make this team good again. Hiring Morgan really could work. He’s smart, he’s deeply invested, he knows the Panthers and the Charlotte market inside and out and he’s respected around the league after previous stints in Seattle and Buffalo. But I didn’t think Panthers owner David Tepper would actually do this, because Morgan was so closely associated with previous general manager Scott Fitterer. He was Fitterer’s right hand man for the past three seasons, and in those three ugly seasons Carolina went 5-12, 7-10 and 2-15. It was that final year, when the Panthers posted an NFL-worst record, that did Fitterer in as GM. Although Fitterer was the boss, Morgan was deeply involved in a number of questionable Panther personnel decisions: Trading Christian McCaffrey, picking Bryce Young over C.J. Stroud and declining the L.A. Rams’ offer of two first-round picks and a third-round pick for Brian Burns, to name just three. Tepper could have picked from a number of other candidates who didn’t have the stain of those past three seasons, and he interviewed a bunch of them. And then he chose Morgan, whose official title will be President of Football Operations/General Manager. Somehow, Morgan convinced him this was the right path. “Dan has a thorough knowledge of our football personnel and a clear vision to take us where we all want to go,” Tepper said in a statement released by the team Monday night. “We know he will attack this opportunity with the same intensity he did as a Panthers player.” No doubt that’s true, but Morgan also is going to have to prove he’s different than Fitterer. In the next few months, he’s going to have to sign a far better free-agent class in 2024 than Carolina acquired in 2023, figure out what to do with edge rusher Burns’ contract and draft a stud with the No. 33 overall pick (the No. 1 pick, which would have been Carolina’s, got shipped to Chicago in the Fitterer regime). If he fails, people will say, “Tepper should have known better. This was just more of the same.” But Morgan somehow convinced Tepper that he can bring something different, something new to the Panthers. It’s not the first time the organization has bet big on Morgan. With head coach George Seifert in charge, the Panthers drafted Morgan in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft (Steve Smith was the team’s third-round pick that same year). All Morgan cared about was football then. He was as single-minded as anyone who ever walked into the Panther locker room as a rookie, and I’ve seen every one of them. Football is me,” he said then. When Morgan was healthy, he was Luke Kuechly before Luke Kuechly ever got to Charlotte. People forget that, but he was. Morgan made an unbelievable 25 tackles in the Super Bowl loss to New England. Morgan also is one of the franchise’s last remaining direct connections to Sam Mills, the team’s first great inside linebacker and the Hall of Fame member who invented the “Keep Pounding” chant. Morgan played under Mills, who took the youngster under his wing and took him bowling as he got him used to what Charlotte was like.
  20. Little dramatic aren’t you .. Reminders. Rae Carruth, Fred Lane, Gregg Hardy, Kerry Collins and so many more
  21. Yep. I thought so from the beginning lot of common threads I’m fine with their hiring Canales. They could do far far worse (and have) Listen to some of his off the cuff interviews on YouTube he is a far cry from past stupidity here and has a really good coaching pedigree
  22. Good to see you back again…if just for a little while
