  1. The Oline is liable to make the Titanic look like a pleasure cruise. Joking aside, I agree with you for the most part. I think getting more reps in the new system will help Darnold more in the long run as will actual game situations, but if doesn't play, he doesn't play.
  2. My opinion leading up to the draft after they traded for Darnold was to give him a chance without having to look over his shoulder. They did that and didn't bring in another QB. Now it's time to see if he can do his part. Yes, it's preseason and the games "don't matter", but it is still a game situation and not practice which will give a good idea of where he is at when the defense doesn't have to pull up.
  3. Rhule's leash is at least two years long. The five year rebuild will give him at least four years unless he quits.
  4. Putting him out there with less than ideal conditions would be better in the long run if they really want to see if he can be the guy.
  5. Is Rhule worried this will happen to him? The Panthers Oline?
  6. Ouch. Yeah, that sucks. I agree that ATT is crap. Sadly, they are the only mobile carrier that works well in the old farmhouse I live in. The steep metal roof kills other signals too much.
  7. No Bally sports with whatever TV option you're using? I remember last season people complained when the Hornets had a national game because Dell and Eric weren't calling it. That was shocking.
  8. Yep. But it's up to the station, not the Hornets themselves to do so. The radio broadcast is up to the Hornets which is why old Uncle Steve got one last ride after Collins replaced him for the TV broadcasts.
  9. I really like how they are leaning into the Eric Collins hype from last season.
  10. Maybe it is MJ saying thanks, but it still feels like a mistake. Miles and PJ will want extensions soon as well and those won't be cheap either. Plus Mitch recently said they wanted to stay cap flexible. This overpay for Terry is not a way of doing that.
  11. Just saw that. I don't like it. Terry is pretty good, but he isn't a max kind of guy. That said, congrats to the guy for getting paid.
  12. If only there had been an event a few months ago where there was a potential franchise left tackle on a rookie contract at that was available for the Panthers to claim. The LT issue might not be an issue now if at such an event the Panthers had the commish say a certain name that is currently being spoken of very highly.
  13. Is it a good plan though? Which is better? Having a bunch of guys that can do a little of every position or having great guys that play one position?
  14. Yeah, the refs can call holding every play if they wanted. It's the sort of thing the Panthers get called for while their opponent gets away with it.
  15. Surprised a flag wasn't thrown on that first play for holding. Then again, it is preseason.
  16. I didn't watch much of the game, but what I did see made me not like Smith's commentary. He didn't sound like a pro or like he belonged in the booth.
  17. And good luck to Kuechly in whatever he does next.
  18. They can always point to the fact they need to address the Oline and QB as reasons for the losing season. Unless Rhule quits, he's safe for at least two more years. Probably three.
  19. I didn't mind the Teddy signing as I thought he would have been used as a bridge to whatever guy they drafted last season or this one. Of course, they did neither. I also expected the team to do more to resolve the Oline issues than signing injury prone backups, but they haven't done that either.
  20. He probably has another two years at least before any talk of being on the hot seat will be anything more than a rumor. That long contract and the talk of a five year rebuild gives Rhule a lot of wiggle room.
