If the rumors from Denver are correct I think it's down to Shaw and Quinn there. But yea the Panthers have been tight lipped.

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a second as well, especially with Payton likely being out and his interview being good. I think it's pretty much down to the grouping of experienced HC's. Which is kinda what I expected when the search started.

If Payton is out because of off-field concerns from the Panthers front office (current rumor) probably a fact as well. Then you might get a hire today from Reich or Wilks. (I'd bet on Wilks if it's down to those two, which seems a possibility right now)

I told everyone it was going to be focused on an experienced HC. The young coordinator interviews were to gage where thier mindsets were at and compare plans and such. It was always going to be a experienced coach after the Rhule experiment. Why I said yesterday that I'd expected Wilks, Reich, Payton to get second interviews and Steichen if he agreed to the front office Coordinator plans for a younger coach.

Rumors going around that Wilks, Steichen, Payton and Reich will get second interviews. Don't know the validity but likely the coach is from those 4.

Josina is still saying the report from yesterday that the Broncos don't know who's making 2nd round interviews still stands tonight after that came out.

That was funny and made me spit my drink out, well done. I'll give him credit, him and his staff are recruiting their buts off. If he can coach, you'll be able to see it soon in Nebraska's record. Maybe he's just an NFL guy, that's possible... still sucks the Panthers were the guinea pigs.

What I meant was that's it for his interviews and if someone is going to jump out in front or he decides on returning to Fox that I think it will happen quickly.

Once Arizona gets that interview out of the way, the Payton situation I think settles fairly quickly.

I would put Steichen as the favorite unless Tepper speeds up and goes with Payton (who I think he's interested in, but not sure how much) Also not a lot making it out of Carolina's hiring group like it is with Denver. So who knows what's going on with the Panthers search.

If he wanted the power everyone thinks he wants, he wouldn't be flying to Arizona and interviewing with a team that just hired a new GM that is going to have roster control.

The problem for Tepper I think is not the draft picks but the 110m contract over 5 years. If he gets past that, I wouldn't be surprised that he's highly interested and Payton moves to round two

If your tepper and you want a hc with experience and an offensive mind You've got Payton, Reich and Caldwell. If just experience, add Wilks. Unless you convince Steichen to let the team hire your staff (fangio) and such then I think the list is probably from the top set of coaches. If Steichen is ok with his OC and DC being former HC and being hired by the team, then he's probably the pick.

That's what it looks like. I think Albright is wrong about Denver being the only ones interested but I don't think Tepper is all that interested if that makes sense.

Think he was usually between 25 and 30ppg with the Colts
