Rattler starting for the Saints. Heineke looked al little innacurate first drive for the Chargers but there was also some WR drops. They are wearing those crisp powder blue unis
-
They are both still relatively young. Kyle Allen around 29 backup for the Lions, Heineke around 32 backup for the Chargers. IDK what Kyle Allen has been up to in the years since he left the Panthers but, Heineke had some good games for the Commanders when Rivera was still there.

Going from 5-12 to 8-9 is a pretty sizable improvement of 3 wins. I think there's just been so much hype around this team this off-season that it might feel like failure though. We have not had 8 wins or more since then 2017 season, which was also our last winning season. I don't think it's realistic to think our defense is going to be good enough for us to do something crazy like flip our record from 5 - 12 to 12-5 or something. But I would be pleasantly surprised if that happened.

Apparently Case Keenum is still in the league, backup QB for the Bears. Not sure if he's the backup or if Bagent is. He must be just as old as Dalton is, he's been playing for a while.

Hot damn, another sack by the Bears. Austin Booker their rookie they drafted in 2024 has 2 sacks.
-
Caleb Williams didn't play but Tua did for one drive, he looked decent. They brought up the Bryce Young trade yet again. Apparently Luther Burden III (WR) was the last piece they got in the trade. I listened to a few pre season games yesterday while working. Jaxon Dart looked pretty good for the Giants. Next game up today is the Saints vs Chargers. I watched the Chargers in the Hall of Fame game, oddly Trey Lance looked pretty good and so did their rookie RB from UNC. Saints should be giving some playing time to their rookie QB drafted in R2 Tyler Shough. I'm not sure if the Saints are set on which QB will be starting by game 1. Tyler Shough or Spencer Rattler . Both should probably get a lot of reps in the pre-season.

Probably not a ton of interest in these games I guess from you guys, but I've been watching/listening to some of them. Watching the Bears vs Dolphins now. Bears defense looks pretty decent. The have had a good number of sacks and this dude almost had a pick 6, dropped it of course though.

So what what you consider as a successful season for our two rookie edge rushers? Assuming Wonnum and Jones stay healthy?

What did he say? I'm listening to a radio broadcast on Sirius with Kurt Coleman and some other dudes

Deiontae Johnson is a scrub. Sheddur must not have been following his shenanigans in the nfl last year lol

Wednesday practice tweets (joint practice with the Browns!)

And I had been hearing people and podcasters saying Coker was expandable after Renfro was doing well before he got hurt lol -

She's implying if Sheddur Sanders does well in the pre season it might force the Browns hand and move him up the depth chart There's been an ongoing situation this off-season with the Browns burying Sheddur on their QB depth chart and not giving him many reps in training camp, despite him outperforming Dillon Gabriel at least (the other qb they drafted 3 rounds ahead of where they drafted Sheddur). -
You must have been excited on draft night lol I felt similar about walker but i felt like I saw a huge outrage when Walker wasn't the pick

Yea it is early to evaluate the trade still but we've at least got some solid data to work with now. Bryce has completed 2 NFL seasons and Caleb Williams has completed 1. I know he wasn't part of the trade but I also include CJ Stroud and the Texans into this as well, since we could have selected him in 2023. As it stands right now, I feel like the trade is pretty much dead even. Bears got quite a few players from it but their team success isn't much better or worse than ours. Neither team has made the playoffs in the 2 seasons since the playoffs have started. Obviously the Texans and Stroud have been far and away the most successful team of all 3 teams, winning two playoff games in those 2 seasons and having winning seasons + winning their division 2x in a row. But all 3 teams have underwent significant change in the off season. The Bears massively upgraded their oline similar to what we did before the 2024 season, and also got a new HC. The Texans overhauled their WR core. The Panthers got some very solid additions in the off season as well. I think the Bears are 2- 0 vs the Panthers since the trade, but the Texans are 0-1 to the Panthers. What say you? Who won the trade thus far? Panthers or Bears??

Round 6, Pick 32 (#208) - Jimmy Horn Jr, WR, Colorado

I forgot we moved up out of the 7th round with that Denver multi pick swap trade... -

Also Trevor Etienne is also going to be challenging blackshear as well. Blackshear will have to really tear it up in camp to make the roster considering, he is a holdover from other regimes going up against 2 different drafted players from the current regime. -

The good thing about this guy is, we dont have any other speedster WRs on the roster. If he can return punts or kicks and can play well in some packages at WR, he has a good chance at making the roster. If you get literally anything out of a 7th round pick it is a slam dunk pick. The only 7th rounder we ever had that became a good contributor in my memory was Captain Munnerlyn. Who was also a pretty small guy but played DB. -
Round 4, Pick 20 (#122) - Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State

That Igbinosun dude in particular was a penalty waiting to happen. I'm not even an Ohio State fan and I would get mad anytime he fuged up lol. I also got mad several times at Penn State. They had a hell of a defense, I think Drew Allar and their WRs brought down the rest of their team severely. The similarly had 2 good RBs and a good defense like Ohio State did. But did not have OSU's level of WR talent or QB play. -

Still feels like we don't have a free saftey on the roster. But Ransom still seems like a solid SS or nickel. -
Not sure if I agree on that one, id prefer a defensive player
