Yea it is early to evaluate the trade still but we've at least got some solid data to work with now. Bryce has completed 2 NFL seasons and Caleb Williams has completed 1. I know he wasn't part of the trade but I also include CJ Stroud and the Texans into this as well, since we could have selected him in 2023. As it stands right now, I feel like the trade is pretty much dead even. Bears got quite a few players from it but their team success isn't much better or worse than ours. Neither team has made the playoffs in the 2 seasons since the playoffs have started. Obviously the Texans and Stroud have been far and away the most successful team of all 3 teams, winning two playoff games in those 2 seasons and having winning seasons + winning their division 2x in a row. But all 3 teams have underwent significant change in the off season. The Bears massively upgraded their oline similar to what we did before the 2024 season, and also got a new HC. The Texans overhauled their WR core. The Panthers got some very solid additions in the off season as well. I think the Bears are 2- 0 vs the Panthers since the trade, but the Texans are 0-1 to the Panthers. What say you? Who won the trade thus far? Panthers or Bears??

Round 6, Pick 32 (#208) - Jimmy Horn Jr, WR, Colorado

I forgot we moved up out of the 7th round with that Denver multi pick swap trade... -

Also Trevor Etienne is also going to be challenging blackshear as well. Blackshear will have to really tear it up in camp to make the roster considering, he is a holdover from other regimes going up against 2 different drafted players from the current regime. -

The good thing about this guy is, we dont have any other speedster WRs on the roster. If he can return punts or kicks and can play well in some packages at WR, he has a good chance at making the roster. If you get literally anything out of a 7th round pick it is a slam dunk pick. The only 7th rounder we ever had that became a good contributor in my memory was Captain Munnerlyn. Who was also a pretty small guy but played DB. -
Round 4, Pick 20 (#122) - Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State

That Igbinosun dude in particular was a penalty waiting to happen. I'm not even an Ohio State fan and I would get mad anytime he fuged up lol. I also got mad several times at Penn State. They had a hell of a defense, I think Drew Allar and their WRs brought down the rest of their team severely. The similarly had 2 good RBs and a good defense like Ohio State did. But did not have OSU's level of WR talent or QB play. -

Still feels like we don't have a free saftey on the roster. But Ransom still seems like a solid SS or nickel. -
Not sure if I agree on that one, id prefer a defensive player

Yea I dont think we will be keeping DJ Johnson, Pat Jones, DJ Wonnum, Jadeveon Clowney, Amare Barno, Nick Scourton, and Princely Umanmeilen on the same final 53 man roster. Im pretty sure we might have some other dudes at edge as well that im not recalling. All I will say is Wonnum was solid when he was healthy. Otherwise, that is a room full of JAGs not counting our two drafted guys. One of them could push to start immediately if theyre good enough. We had such a poo defense they should let the best man win in training camp for the starting OLB positions.
-
This dude has to be my favorite target for R4. I'd trade up for him immediately. Very solid saftey with tons of experience and production in college. Only real knock is hes pretty small. Definitely free saftey and not strong imo. Which is what we needed anyway.
-
I know it might not make sense to draft a 3rd edge rusher, but the value for Kyle Kennard in R4 is ridiculous if he's there.
-
My best available for the Panthers: 1. Billy Bowman (S Oklahoma) 2. Lathan Ransom (S Ohio State) 3. Dorian Strong (CB Virginia Tech) 4. Kyle Kennard (EDGE South Carolina) 5. Jack Sawyer ( EDGE Ohio State)
-
Holy poo. The Falcons got Xavier Watts! Damn! They have had a hell of a draft. Jaylon Walker, James Pierce, Xavier Watts. That was basically my dream senario for the Panthers.
-
thats what im thinking. Based on what I saw on the field from a pure football standpoint, he shouldn't have made it out of R2 IMO.
-
Wow!!! There must be something that either teams found out about Sheddur or maybe he totally bombed the interviews. This is wild!!
-
Sheddur Sanders might drop to R4. Never would have guessed !!! He was projected as QB 2 for a long time. Has to be about his personality.
-
Seahawks now have Darnold and Milroe. Two QBs who couldn't be any different from each other lol. I'm guessing the plan is to have Milroe sit and develop behind Darnold for a while, Darnold will only be 28 years old going into this next season, which is wild to think about.

Round 3 - Panthers Select Princely Umanmielen at Pick 77

DJ Johnson and Amare Barno can go kick rocks lol -

I like this picture Scourton is bit heavier than Princely, but Princely is a bit longer -
Huddle went down for quite a while. Princely Umanmeilen was a great pick in R3, he was projected to go in R2
-
Ravens got Mike Green and Malaki Starks in the same draft. That is nuts!!
-
Round 2 - Panthers Select Nic Scourton at pick 51

He will barely be turning 21 when the season starts. Wow. That's a huge plus if he's any good. -
Round 2 - Panthers Select Nic Scourton at pick 51

Don't know much about this dude honestly. I saw his name a good bit early in the off season but saw it less as we got closer to the draft. Looks like we traded down 11 spots in the 3rd round , down 11 spots in R4, and moved up from pick 230 to pick 208. So we really didn't lose much. Just some random ass pick swaps with Denver. His sack production does not stand out to me. 2 sacks in 2022, 10 sacks in 2023, and 5 sacks in 2024. Meh. Pro comparison is Trey Hendrickson, which is wild. If he ends up being that good, then this was a steal of a pick.
