Pretty much this. Wake me up when Bryce makes good throws in the first half of games

Trapasso: Young's first few starts are concerning
Hoenheim replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the best perspective I can take on Bryce right now is, it doesn't look good so far but 3 games isn't a large enough sample size to make any hard judgements. The NFL off season is so long and adding the fact we're missing a first rounder? Were going to have al the time in the world to over analyze his performance of his rookie season. I think a full year is a reasonable sample size to really critique and analyze -
That Stat is almost meaningless when so many of his throws are 5 yards or less. The problem is he just almost doesn't even try to throw down the field. Many have blamed the o line and Reich but we saw a so called washed backup qb do it vs Seattle with the same players mostly If we keep seeing these stupid ass screens that don't work despite us being 0-4 going on 0-5, then there is some sort of very serious problem with either Bryce being way too risk averse or with Reich making him be that way through playcalls. Prob really a mix of both.

What Is It Going To Take For More Agressive Playcalling????
Hoenheim replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've been watching film analysis videos of panther games and some plays Bryce has quite a while to throw. He just doesn't see dudes down field or chooses not to throw to them sometimes. He could also be checking out of some longer passes . So it's not 100% playcalling. -
What Is It Going To Take For More Agressive Playcalling????
Hoenheim replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's not an excuse to attempt almost 0 intermediate or long ish throws. I've seen them hold blocks for long periods of time on some plays I'm literally counting the seconds Bryce has to throw. They don't immediately fold in 2 seconds every passing play. -
I'm getting sick and tired of this pointless stinking turd of a offense that almost exclusively has Bryce throwing extrmely short passes. I've seen him connect on some intermediate passes. But he rarely ever even attemps 15+ yard passes? This has to be largely due to playcalls. I think every defense in the league has caught on to the fact we love to run up the gut or throw screens or super short routes. Why are we almost not even attempting longer throws? I know the o line is ass. But ive seen them block well enough on occasion. Bryce can move around or have plays designed for him to move around. You can put in extra blockers. What is the point of continuing to use this check down offense if it doesn't work?? I think we have a good defense but frank is out here operating the offense like he has the 1985 bears or 2000 ravens defense completely shutting down opponents, when that's not the case. We're 0-4. Playoffs likely aren't in the cards. Why in the hell do I see all these reports about the panthers scrambling for a wr when they only throw 5 yard passes on average?? What good is that wr going to do with these dumb ass playcalls? Unless you can find a YAC God that can make 5 men miss every catch It's just frustrating man. I wouldn't care if Bryce threw 50 Interceptions or gets sacked 100 times. just TRY to throw downfield at least. How much of this is Bryce not looking/not seeing deeper options and how much of it is playcalling?

If Wilks was coaching with this exact same roster we would have at least 2 wins right now, easily.

Panthers are positioned very well for 2024 and on
Hoenheim replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
Always bragging about cap space when we haven't paid Burns or Brown or accounted for any signings we could still make this year or 2024 off season -
Chubba was running well the first half of the last game iirc. Then he started getting stuffed later . But overall he has vastly out performed sanders. You could say the same with Shenault but he just hasn't gotten enough carries for me to really Guage his rushing performance You could use the injuries to Corbett and Christensen as excuses but I saw Christian mccafrey run wild in 2018 and 2019 behind some not so great o lines with shitty qb play and everyone on defense knowing he's getting the ball. At some point as a rb, if you are really that dude, you don't suck as badly as sanders has even behind this caliber o line

Panther Shopping for Number 1 caliber WR, Top Priority
Hoenheim replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's just pure idiocy. We don't need a wr right now we need better play calling and better pass blocking. We could have tyreek hill and devante adams right now and they're not going be doing a ton with all their targets being 10 yards or less and a majority of them being at or around the LOS. -
Panther Shopping for Number 1 caliber WR, Top Priority
Hoenheim replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yay let's throw away more draft picks when we're already missing a 1st in 2024 and a 2nd in 2025. I think fit is panicking and Trying to save his job -
Why isnt Lavishka Shenault getting more manufactured touches?
Hoenheim replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
We should be starting chubba at RB and giving laviska a lot more carries. Sanders should be riding the God damn pine like the bum he is. -
Ive given him a new nickname. "Swindler" because he absolutely stole money from Fiterrer given this absolute shite he has put on the field This is insanely bad. How the flying fu.ck does this dude keep getting so many of the carries? Wtf???? AT ATL 18 car 72 yds 4.0 ypc 0 TD VS NO 14 car 43 yds 3.1 ypc 0TD AT SEA 9 car 24 yds 2.7 ypc 1 TD VS MIN 13 car 19 yds 1.5 ypc 0 TD Total 54 rushes 158 yds 2.9 ypc

Kyle Bailey says Tepper isnt happy, wants changes now.
Hoenheim replied to CPF4LIFE's topic in Carolina Panthers
How is this thread so long already -
Not having Christensen and Corbett healthy has hit us extrmely hard. This might be a very different team with both of them healthy and jc healthy

Yea it's a team game but it's a problem if your qb is only directly (passing or rushing) accounting for 0 or 1 TD a game. That's not enough production to win football games. For everyone just blaming everyone and everything else and just brushing bryce struggles off as him being a rookie. Consider this. If you need your QB to have a top 5 o line, hall of fame wrs, Kyle Shanahan at HC, and have the 85 bears defense completely shutting the other team down....Then maybe your qb ain't that good.

Pledge to continue being a fan the rest of the season....
Hoenheim replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The fact that were still here on this message board despite this likely being the franchises 6th losing season in a row automatically means we're still fans We lost a lot of those 2015 bandwagoners a long time ago. If you truly were not a fan or didn't care, you wouldn't watch the games or spend time arguing about them here -
Bryce didn't score any points. In fact he contributed -7 points from that fumble 6. Cousins had 2 picks but threw 2 TDs. My main problem with Bryce isn't really he's making ton of mistakes its the lack of overall production. We have a good enough defense that he doesn't have to throw 5 tds a game but the fact that he either gets 0 or 1 td a game is a problem. Theres a correlation between the low offensive production and Bryce being on the field. And if YOU want to do that hypothetical horse poo about one of his TDs being dropped, his dumb ass had a pick 6 dropped earlier in the game too. That's almost -14 points on your QB alone.
-
If my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle No it's not all bryces fault. But theres a high correlation with him being on the field and the offense stuttering 95% of the time. Dalton actually got this offense to work consistently. It almost seems broken with Bryce. If we play the If game, you could say if Bryce doesn't have those 2 picks to ATL we win game 1 and if he doesn't fumble 6 this game we win this game. But he didn't. He hasn't shown me anything that's impressed me enough to justify him being the #1 overall draft choice. The haters are using results they see on the field from what I'm noticing. The apologists are mostly operating on if statements, hopes, dreams.
