Bring him back. I like to only remember the things that I say that are correct. But last offseason I said out of all the people released or allowed to walk (including Smitty) that two players we would miss most were Mike Mitchell and Ted Ginn Jr. I still stand by that belief. Yes he had some drops, but his speed helped every other receiver so much that season, and he is a proven punt returner. This makes a lot of sense for us, and for Ginn. The ever present caveat though is "for the right price"

Monsta because he offered me vice moD Lola just cuz

It was a two win team that won their division the year prior. They had TERRIBLE QB play than season. Only needed competence and they would have been fine, but Manning back ups sucked miserably- 181 replies

Panthers and Cam Newton in contract talks
teeray replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can't wait to play the AFC South this year. They are terrible. The only reason you can't say they are a worse division than ours is because of the Colts. When you consider the fact that the second best QB in that division is Fitzpatrick you have to realize how terrible a division it is. There was one week where the entire division outside of the Colts had 3 points cumulative through 3 quarters in their respective games. NFCS has average teams across the board and a terrible Tampa team. But 3 of our 4 teams would be second best team in AFC South. And before anyone goes there, the Texans do indeed suck.- 218 replies

Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?
teeray replied to Nick_81's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed, and also people should understand that often times what reporters are hearing off the record but can't report is why they may have strong opinions about something like this. I asked a couple of reporters about how what we were saying and doing as a franchise seemed in contrast to the belief that the Hardy door was completely closed. Both referred to some off the record conversations that led them to that conclusion. When you see almost all local media guys saying the same thing, without seemingly a lot of evidence that is public, that is sometimes why. They can't really report it, so they kind of report about it. When Jeremy, Voth, and Person are all saying the same thing, but not quoting sources, that is what I assume is the case. That it has been said or hinted at off the record, despite what Panthers are saying publically. -

Again, a lot of this will also depend on what is ruled in Peterson court hearing, which has more implications to Hardy that the Rice ruling. Judge told NFL in Rice trial that they can't make it up as they go, so they will have to defend their suspension and I imagine it will also end up in a court room. And there is at least precedent now that the NFLPA attorneys can show the judges ruling which in part said that NFL didn't have authority to suspend Rice longer than what policy dictated at the time of the offense. We will see. -

The part that would apply to Hardy would be the judge saying Goodell didn't have authority to suspending him longer than policy dictated at the time of the offense. Meaning 2 games and not minimum 6 Other than that it is different circumstances -

You can really claim that any case is apples and oranges. But the important thing is punishment precedent that is established The part of the case that will have a lot to do with Hardy is the issue of them changing policies after the incident. When the Hardy trial went down the normal punishment would be 2 games for a first time offender of domestic violence Now that number is 6, but that was enacted retroactively to Hardy incident. Peterson case will help clear that up. Rice and Peterson also admitted guilt. Hardy could argue he is being suspended for a crime he didn't commit, and ultimately had charges dropped against him. Peterson also argued that the exempt list is a "pre-discipline discipline" The way that all plays out would have much bearing on the Hardy case, and Peterson and Hardy will both cite the Rice decision which his suspension was overturned by a court, partly because in that ruling the judge said that Goodell didn't have the authority to impose harsher penalty than called for by policy in place at the time of the incident. There is A LOT that the Peterson case can clear up for Hardy -
Probably Davis and CJ

Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?
teeray replied to Nick_81's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think most of us know what Zod is saying, we just don't agree. It isn't just us, there are some in the media saying it is extremely unlikely and others that it is inevitable. There are a lot of factors at play here that do not have a precedent. I have said that the Peterson case that is in the court system will tell a lot, and even then I think if Hardy gets suspended his appeal will end up in a court room as well. There are a lot of factors that have not been challenged yet, and they will be. Plus the NFL has to find a reason to suspend him. If it was truly as simple as saying "conduct policy" they would have done it already and wouldn't need 1st trial evidence. You may think he wasn't suspended already because he was paid. A judge might disagree (could happen) I worry about the precedent of players being blackmailed or accused of things by girlfriends trying to punish them by ruining their careers. Having an allegation come out against you that is a misdemeanor charge shouldn't cost someone 22 games. That is absurd. Even if he was paid. We will see -

Actually, we don't even know that a financial settlement was reached. DA didn't say that there was one, just that they had reason to believe there was one. And that settlement cannot be contingent on her not testifying or not showing up. The only thing we know for sure is she quit talking to DA after saying she didn't want another trial and that she didn't show up -

How bout this. I bet you my all-pro membership money that he does not get suspended more than two games. If I win you refund my money but I get to keep access until my current subscription ends, then I have to pay to renew You win I will donate additional all-pro money to the site or tailgate One caveat is it has to be what punishment is after all appeals. You down? -
Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?
teeray replied to Nick_81's topic in Carolina Panthers
Some people seem really emotional about not wanting Hardy back. Not really sure why. I get having the educated opinion or belief that he won't be. But some of the posters seem to emotionally attached to the idea that he can't come back no matter what. This is a guy that makes us better as a team. He has some warts. And if he leaves so be it, we will survive. But i am not excited at the prospect of him walking and possibly signing with a team we have to face in the future -

No but they could easily ask him to lay low, and not be around to avoid distractions. Or he could have been advised by agent to stay away. Most of these guys have their own workout facilities for the offseason, so isn't that absurd he not go to the weight room
