  1. This is just going to be my go to pic for these threads about other QBs
  2. You can tell the wannabe competitors from the real competitors. Wannabe competitors play for a piece if plastic with a brass figurine on top of it. Real competitors play for the morbid satisfaction of watching your opponent quietly weep in the corner after you defeated them. Nothing beats the satisfaction of winning and a participation trophy doesn't heal the wounds of losing. The idea that this has real world implications is stupid.
  3. Yeah, you touched on something there. Participation trophies and such also encourages continued participation. No one likes losing, but at the end if the day these should be positive experiences for children. Making it hyper competitive will only encourage kids to quit playing. These are kids after all, and let's be honest, there are three types of parents that have kids play youth sports. 1- the parents that facilitate and encourage their kids to do this thing they like and just want them to have fun and learn (probably the vast majority of parents). 2- are forcing their kids to participate even if they don't really want to because it is a glorified babysitter service and they can have a couple hours on the weekend for some afternoon delight, run errands, or just relax for a couple of hours when their kids are at practice. 3- hyper competitive parents that expect their kids to also be hyper competitive and end up yelling at the coach or getting in fist fights with the youth legal official because "THIS POO IS SERIOUS BRO!!" These parents also tend to be the ones that are so competitive they can't comprehend that their little Bobby actually sucks at soccer and that is why he doesn't play as much, and create unreasonable expectations for their child and just believes the rest of the world doesn't see their kid's greatness.
  4. Who cares if kids get a small trophy for participation? This is howling at the moon bullshit that really has no real world impact. I got participation ribbons for swim meets when I was a child. This is dumb.
  5. If he is going to be a dick I wouldn't even franchise him. Or at least not twice. He is good, I have always stuck up for him. But he ain't that damn good (25 mill then 30 mill on tags). If he doesn't make a commitment to you it is time to search for alternatives. Keep that defense together and they will still be playoff caliber no matter what. Glad we got our guy locked up at a reasonable price (as far as QB contracts go)
  6. I bought a lighter for 15 bucks. How close does that get me to free all-pro?
  7. Venom has gone off the grid to avoid the illuminati He did manage to sneak in one post the other day so he is still lurking in the shadows
  8. The Tinderbox is great, but you have to have a thick skin. You will get challenged on your beliefs and you can't run to the moderators because someone was mean to you. But it can be educational and sometimes great debate goes on there with really smart posters making good arguments.
  9. Fug them so much you don't even know the correct acronym!!
  10. Some of those people Spaceballs83 thinks are "liberals" were also Republicans not to long ago.
  11. twylyght, ECU88, pstall, stirs, DDII, ARSEN, G5, TN05, and whoever else I am surely missing (sorry) Yeah those guys are crazy liberals.
  12. And the Lord said unto thee, "My child.... c'mon you are an NFL QB and rich. You can do better bro"
  13. What is really weird is that i was talking to God the other day and he said Russell Wilson is full of sh!t.
  14. Two assholes talking to each other never goes well
  15. I think some of these moves are because Cho and Clifford have probably been told they are on the hotseat so they are making moves to try and make us better right now
  16. Biz isn't elite defensively, and his strength on defense does not compensate for his inadequacies on offense. Whatever rim protection he provided he wasn't great moving his feet or being out of position as he would at times hunt blocks on defense. His Real Defensive Plus/Minus was not much higher than Big Al's, and Al struggled last year with injuries (on top of not being a great defender to begin with) He won't average 10-15-4 next year because no one is going to play him enough minutes to. Someone on twitter said yesterday that initial interest around the league for Biz is tepid.
  17. I am so tempted to give a one line response lol. Look the guy is just not that good. His offense was putrid, and his defense is overrated, and his rim protection doesn't make up for his offense. You can't run any pick and roll with him because you just trap the ball because he can't even catch the ball and when he does he cannot finish around the rim unless he has a wide open dunk. I like Biz. He seemed like a good dude, but he just wasn't very good. He is young though and seemed to improve year to year so hopefully he carves out a career as a role player. I hate moving on from projects before they fully develop, which happens all the time which is why I don't like drafting projects, but I am not surprised. ETA: no need to ever apologize to me. Say your piece brother
  18. Biz kinda sucked guys. He could barely catch a basketball.
