  1. Which might be good for us. If we resign Darnold, pick up a player in the first at another position of need (Defensive End perhaps), and maybe take a chance on Hooker in the second.
  2. Didn't rush three, got a little pressure, 4th and long. No points. 7-0 Panthers.
  3. Three man rush on a third and medium distance against a QB like Brady almost always equals completion for first down.
  4. The peanut punch was nice, but since we didn't score, it turned into nothing except that they didn't score. And now a sack, we finally got some pressure.
  5. And they were getting the same complaints about their field. Buffalo Bills’ Devin Singletary: ‘The grass felt like concrete’ (usatoday.com)
  6. Stroud shouldn't have thrown that rainbow pass, but he got away with it and it almost ended up being a big play for them. I wonder if he meant to throw it out of the end zone, but under threw it.
  7. Stroud has had all day to pass. Ohio State's line is really playing well.
  8. Pittsburgh's oline dominated. Trubisky had all day to throw. The key for us against Tampa is to get pressure.
  9. I never pay much attention to anyone who says we have to pick this guy, or this other guy is going to be a sure fire success. That being said, I do think we need to take a chance on a qb this year. I don't mind if we resign Darnold, but I still hope they draft one if we get a shot at one they like.
  10. Dallas doing everything they can to keep TN in the game.
  11. FSU will likely start out next year in the top 10, and probably be considered the top challenger for Clemson.
  12. At first, the interception celebrations were kind of cool. But they are getting old now. Need to come up with something unique, or just hand it to the ref.
  13. Baker is playing well. The Rams as a whole are not.
  14. With Rhule as head coach, I am not sure prime Tom Brady or Joe Montana would work here.
  15. We also had 4 3 and outs out of 5 first half possessions. And in the second half, we had 2 red zone trips in the fourth qtr that end up with field goals. Both the offense and the defense lost that game because the steelers dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides. Our offense couldn't run, and while Darnold played fairly well when he got time, he was under pressure a lot. And our defense couldn't stop the run and couldn't pressure the passer, which allowed a scrub like Trubiski to carve us up.
  16. I am confused. Didn't he try to get Deshaun Watson? Has he changed his mind on going after established QB's?
  17. Thinking about buying some playoff game tickets thru ticket master or seatgeek. How does it work if we don't make the playoffs? Do they refund the full price, or do they subtract fees from the refund?
  18. Does it? Perhaps if we look at it with tunnel vision (only at our team), it does. But if you look at numbers around the league, it doesn't seem like so much. Heck, Carson Wentz is making 30 million a year, and I would much rather have Darnold than Wentz. I mean if you look at the average qb salary in the NFL this year, that will place him about 20th or so on the list. And a lot of guys that are beneath him are on their rookie contract, so they might be passing him in a couple of years. If we give him a 3 year contract, it would mean that by 2025, he would be one of the lowest paid starters in the league (assuming he is still our starter). As I said, it would be slightly above what Marcus Mariota makes this year, but he has had a better year than MM. No more than 3 or 4 years, with as much cap hit as possible front loaded.
  19. There is still a Bojangles in the stadium, right? I am sure Tepper could convince the franchise to hook Darnold up.
  20. 10-13.9 million per year. That would be more than Marcus Mariota, but less than Jameis Winston. And I would throw in free Bojangles.
  21. He has done well, although I still want to see what he does in game winning situations. Irt making the right choice, I don't think we had that many other options though. Any kicker we picked up at that stage wasn't exactly likely to be the next Justin Tucker.
