  1. Also Mayfield had some previous success. And Darnold had some with us, after Rhule got canned. Not a lot, but certainly more than Bryce has ever had.
  2. Imo, what we need is large numbers of picks. The reality is that with virtually any NFL team, there are going to be picks that fail. The more picks you have, the greater the odds that you will get legitimate players. Which is why I get annoyed when we trade two picks (or in some cases more) to move up a few spots to get one player. So if trading a guy (Johnson) who will not be here next year anyway nets us a third or even a second, great. But just pick the best guy available at that slot, and don't try to move up to get your guy.
  3. It's been a cascading series of errors with each one worst than the last one. But it all started with not letting Cam play it out and hiring a college coach. I hope they just let things play out this year. No firings, no trading up to draft a specific player, etc...
  4. Regarding trading good players for draft picks, the reality is we are really bad at that. In fairness, over half the teams in the league are bad at it, but when you have our track record, might be a good idea to keep some of the players we developed that are actually decent.
  5. Sure, but a lot of qb's do that in college. They usually have to learn not to do it in the NFL.
  6. His biggest issue in my limited time watching him is holding on to the ball a little long.
  7. If you mean Tepper, its pointless to discuss it. He isn't going anywhere. All we can hope for is that he eventually gets better.
  8. He looks really good, calm under pressure, good arm strength, some mobility. He does make some wtf plays on occasion though. As with virtually any player, no way to know if his ability will xfer to the NFL.
  9. Leggett is still to raw, Johnson is good, but he is not Steve Smith or Randy Moss. Thielen is out and they are sitting on the run. Dalton is an adequate backup and that is it. I don't know if Canales will be a good coach, but I can't fault him for this.
  10. I agree, and all this talk about scheme is off base. Bill Walsh couldn't scheme a td for us right now. The offense might look a little better once Thielen and Brooks return. Only a little.
  11. I 1000% disagree. In this game, they know they stop Johnson and Hubbard, we have nothing else.
  12. They are sitting on Hubbard. They are on him as soon as he gets the ball. We aren't going to be able to run the ball.
  13. They are sitting on the run, doubling Johnson, and with Thielen out, we have no one else who is a threat.
  14. Someone tboned my wife's car a few years ago just as the post Covid shut downs were ending. It was paid off, so the other guys insurance cut us a big check. We were going to get a Rav4 plug in hybrid, but it was a six month wait. And she wanted the Rav, so we ended up going with the gas model. Maybe next time, although I hope hers last 10-15 years.
  15. Looks good. I wouldn't mind having one, just not ready to make that move yet.
  16. We may not move Chuba, but I have a feeling this thread will soon be moved (or locked).
  17. Is this really news? Breaking news, I need to stop today and get gas for my car.
  18. Ewers isn't exactly doing himself any favors tonight either.
  19. Don't really care enough to watch the game, but the game feed is interesting. Punt, Punt, Interception, Punt, Interception, fumble.
  20. Bama with their second loss and third bad game in a row. Wonder if they will drop to 8th in the polls.
  21. Meh, I think Sanders gets a lot of attention due to his last name. As to how good he really is, we will see. He had better learn how to get rid of the ball faster or his NFL career will be a short one. Predictions about qb classes get it wrong as often as they get it right. 2021 was a very hyped qb class, and it might be the most over hyped class in a long time.
