  1. Admittedly I don't read the details, but didn't they originally ask for much higher amounts the last couple of times, and what they got ended up being less than half of what they originally requested?
  2. Has he actually said this? I mean he has one year as a OC, so as far as past results, one can't really say what he likes. Seattle certainly had a power run game in its Super Bowl years, so he does have an association with it. If he is smart, he will adjust to what his team does best, whether that is a power run, a pass happy offense, or some combination thereof.
  3. Agreed. Laviska is actually decent when healthy, but so rarely is he healthy that there is little point in keeping him.
  4. He is a free agent. If he had a good season, we would still suck and he wouldn't be coming back here.
  5. Commanders hiring Kliff Kingsburgy, Joe Whitt Jr. as coordinators (nfl.com) How on earth does Kliff Kingsbury keep getting jobs in the NFL? The Commanders hired him as their offensive coordinator. I don't get it, he got fired from Texas Tech after not being able to win games with Patrick Mahomes as his qb, quit on USC, did nothing at the Cardinals, got rehired at USC, and has now left after 1 year to go to the Commanders. I guess he is a salesman.
  6. Chark essentially had a one year contract. Even if he had a pro bowl season, he would likely be gone.
  7. Usually, but not always. I have seen teams feature a power rushing attack, and a passing attack that utilizes a lot of short an intermediate range passes. I was a Washington fan for years, and Theisman never had a strong arm, but he had a great coach, some good receivers, a good oline and John Riggins.
  8. Agreed, we aren't going to get as much for him now. Better to give him a higher contract and get what we can performance wise. If we tag and trade him now, we might get a second and will likely have a significant portion of his cap hit on our books. Regarding your earlier comment about moving the Oline around, I wouldn't mind trying Brady at left tackle and moving Ickey to guard. I think Ickey might do better at guard. But besides that, I agree.
  9. We can't go back in time and undo the trade. So at this point, the front office and the staff have to do what is best for the team going forward. If that means we move to a power running attack, so be it. And if that gives Bryce a couple of years to turn into a good qb (ala Trevor Lawrence or Josh Allen) then so much the better. If we keep looking at the situation as "we gave up a lot for him, so he has to be great now" then he is probably doomed.
  10. His first draft is handicapped. It will be interesting to see though if Canales can get more out of the picks, we have than Reich and Rhule did. Making Ekwonu more of a downhill blocker, and Horn staying healthy would help a lot.
  11. There are two different definitions of BBQ, one a verb and one a noun. The Verb, to cook outdoor or on a grill. This definition is not used in the Southeast. The Noun, pork cooked on an fire or grill or some other method that can be used outdoors. Cooked with one of several different sauces or baste, the best of which is a mixture of tomato sauce and vinegar.
  12. Fwiw, this is probably a negotation. They ask for outrageous amounts, get a 1/3 of what they ask for, which is what they wanted in the first place.
  13. I wouldn't have to say that at all. I think you are giving an opinion on who you think is best, which is ok but not relevant. I am looking only at statistics. He was top 10 in yards this year. I am saying with a better qb and a more pass heavy offense, he likely would have been in the top 5.
  14. He was top 10 in yards with Fields throwing the ball on a team that was bottom five in the league in passing attempts. With Mahomes or Allen throwing it, I have no doubt he would move into the top five.
  15. I think DJ has done amazing considering the passing attack's/qb's he has been saddled with. Cam, after his arm was shot, Kyle Allen, Teddy two yards Bridgewater, Sam throw it to the other team Darnold and PJ Walker. If DJ was in Baltimore, Buffalo, or KC, he would be top five in the NFL.
  16. If by unload you mean cut, then there is little doubt that will happen. If by unload, you mean trade, can't see that happening. Can't imagine anyone would give us anything for him.
  17. Its definitely arguable. Kelce is good, no doubt. But having Mahomes and Reid help him a lot. Put prime Gonzales in Kelce's position, and he would have as good or better numbers.
  18. I would keep Brown over anyone else on the defense. He is a building block for the future. A lot of the plays made behind him are due to him.
  19. News flash, Air Force shoots down plane with NFL coaching staff on it because plane changed flight and mid air and was headed towards Washington.
  20. So you want to get rid of Christensen, Moton, and Brown? I hope that doesn't happen.
  21. to me, it is. But to each his own. Fwiw, I am not arguing that Burns is a superstar or anything of the sort. Just that he is a good DE, who can make good plays. And I think if we get a better pass rush in general, he could get 10-12 sacks a year and force opposing offenses to account for him. But I do think we have backed ourselves into a corner with the way we handled his contract. Could have gotten a lot for him last year, now we will get less. I would almost rather pay him the bigger contract than do a trade that is unlikely to get much for him. Or worse yet, cut him and get nothing more than cap space and a comp pick.
  22. I disagree. Can't have a game changing play if you aren't in the game. Against Tampa, Burns had a second half sack that forced Tampa to settle for a fg in the red zone. On our following possession, we march down the field, but don't score. In fact, didn't score at all that game. Could have been a game changing play, but it wasn't because we never had a chance to win the game as the offense got shut out.
  23. In fairness, you have to have a decent team before many game changing plays can be made. I mean if you get a sack when your team is down by a few points, but your offense can't move the ball, then there is no chance of a game changing play.
  24. I didn't care when New England was winning a lot of Superbowls, and I don't care if KC wins them. If we can't win it, my only wish is for the Cowboys to lose. Beyond that, I don't care who does win, just want an interesting game.
