  1. Coker isn't an experienced veteran, and neither did he go to Minnesota with Bryce Young and company. Now I am not saying he didnt have his reasons for not attending, but he's still a young kid.
  2. I've been low-key keeping that kicker battle in the forefront. There certainly seems to be more misses than I'm used to (hell, Joe Person feeling the need to clarify), but it is practice, and I guess the skinny posts are skinny for a reason. There could be a better name, by the way. What about "precision posts?"
  3. I'm saying it now: not contested catch "guy," it is T-mac'a destiny to become a contested catch god!
  4. On an off note, we may not have to pay Bryce if things don't go as planned. Barnwell isn't inking Bryce just yet: "There might be a truly desperate team out there willing to send a first-round pick to the Panthers right now, but I suspect most would probably prefer to wait and see whether the QB from the second half of 2024 is the guy we see in 2025. We might find out what Young really fetches in a trade after this season." https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45824150/nfl-trade-tiers-2025-players-worth-first-round-pick-all-32-teams-contract-value#CAR Not that I'm trying to hijack the thread or anything...might have more money available than we thought...
  5. Did I say that? Try again. In fact, I said the exact opposite in several respects. I don't run a football team, and I wouldn't presume to know what the ball boy knows, much less Eric Eager (for example). I can only know so much. I may question someone's opinion within the context of giving my own, but clowning people and personal insults are not my go-to style. Now, as some have learned over the more than last couple of decades, I can and will get stupid with people who get stupid with me.
  6. We'll see if he's emotional enough not to take that big payday from a team not named the Panthers. He'll be alright, and so will the team. I understand the emotional aspect that arises from the business side, and that it's really about value from the FO's standpoint, but I will admit that I do have a little stress thinking about trying to replace Moton in light of O-line replacement problems of the last decade. It would be nice to see T-Mo come to a compromise. In any event, replacing players is central to the job.
  7. No, I'm answering your weak-ass attempts at trolling. You're calling me an ass? Go look in the mirror! You're consistently the only mod that really is an ass. I 100 percent think that the mod power changed you for the worst (in that regard). You laid out your opinion. **standing ovation** Good for you. I gave my opinion as well, which is simply just that I'd keep an open mind about it depending upon the details. News flash: having an open mind and being willing and able to support an opinion on a football discussion board isn't being an ass. Making little offhanded comments about a person's intellect is being an ass. Being an ass is asking someone, "Do you understand English?" Now I wonder who did that. Be a nicer person. You used to be. Stop subjecting the Huddle to your assholery!
  8. No, it's a countering of your endless drivel of "strawmanning." Furthermore, if you don't want an answer, don't ask questions.
  9. I mean, it's Cokeheads", and it's not the first time it's been referenced, but I doubt Basbear came up with it, but if he did it was clever. It's not even supposed to be a negative. Coker surely takes it in stride. https://x.com/KeepBlitzin/status/1852078156187926695?t=skYhVRSVQBg2A9JEk6kSQg&s=19
  10. I've always said that PFF is a tool. If you don't know how to use it, or don't want to know how to use it, then it's useless. But some people actually do know how to use it---which is why it still exists and is used by all 32 NFL teams---and part of this is putting it all within context----seeing the bigger picture. If you don't understand that not all players, develop at the same rate, have different levels of talent, have injuries that affect their play, and face different circumstances in regards to the opposition and coaching, for example, then I don't know what to tell you. Coaches set expectations based upon a variety of things, not only last year's stat sheet, which may have been brought about by dynamics that you, as a fan, may or may not understand. And even if you have some understanding of them, as a fan, you still will never have the clarity that they do---the concerns or the context that they do. As a fan, you should even be putting your lack of understanding their context, into context (and stop trying to act like you know something to be true based upon a bad season at the end of the day).
  11. I still say that Corey Phillip Brown was the most hyped Panthers receiver of all time. It is most certainly debatable though.
  12. There's that s word again...If the career curve and contract numbers align, then perhaps he'll be here, but he deserves fan appreciation however it goes.
  13. Context is so complicated for you. Keep that same energy during the season and once it's finished.
  14. Lloyd aside, what I've learned from this thread is that Coker is the best and most promising receiver on the roster. Alrighty then...
  15. What does the second worst defense got to do with anything? They are not the second worst because of one player. You should be trying to look at his play in a vacuum the best you can, not essentially saying that every player on a bad defense is bad. The fact is, Lloyd has improved, leading the Jags in tackles and defensive stops last year. Moreover, the Jags have obviously been having issues, and one way that they plan to fix it is switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3. They may not feel that he's the best fit for their system.
  16. I get what you're saying, but "disappointment" or not, he's been solid the last two years. He is great depth at worst, but is really a starter.
  17. I mean, I like the Renfrow story and all that, but he does have a history of an incurable, yet chronic autoimmune disease. Ulcerative Colitis goes into remission and can be managed with meds and lifestyle changes, but it can also flare up also. That being said, I'm still not necessarily against trading Coker for Lloyd. Not necessarily for it either. I think people must remember that Coker is still young, and probably can't anchor a WR room as good as some of you thinks that he is. He was undrafted for a reason. That being said, he's better than many suspected, and made a solid accounting of himself his rookie season. Basically, we just can't pinpoint his ceiling, but can comfortably say that he has a decent floor. It just depends upon calculating who you believe would have the most impact short and possibly long term. I think that there are still more question marks surrounding Coker.
  18. Oh, you can take things away from them, you just shouldn't take things and run away with them.
  19. Bryce and Legette just cooked Horn on a play yesterday. https://x.com/Panthers/status/1949851161076375585?t=EmA59QYdiarcGTu_Zary4A&s=19
  20. "Carolina’s group of young wide receivers looked especially impressive on Monday. Tetairoa McMillan, Xavier Legette, and Jalen Coker all made several highlight-worthy plays in one-on-one drills." https://www.wbtv.com/2025/07/28/panthers-intensity-turns-physical-first-day-padded-practice-training-camp/ It's a little early to say someone isn't having a good camp. Coker has been making some plays.
  21. Well that's a bold statement...based upon what now?
  22. No one is necessarily saying they want him to be third in receptions, but that it could happen and that it wouldn't be some automatic negative. At this point we have other younger, less experienced players who could of course end up producing more than Renfrow, but depending on game dynamics and coaching philosophy regarding experience and simple execution at/on the job, there is a scenario where Renfrow gets more play than most of the guys. That's all I'm saying. Furthermore, run blocking is an understated part of the job and Renfrow isn't bad at that, but younger guys (especially rookies) need to master that before they become a regular staple in the flow of the game. In my opinion, some Huddlers are just discounting Renfrow a little too much while glorifying younger guys who still have a lot to learn. I've seen this story before. It's not about "infatuation" from the coaches' parts, and more about getting the receivers on the field who can do their job. And speaking of "infatuation," I'm not inclined to fall in love with the next best thing either. I've seen these players come and go on a consistent basis. I told people that Philly was JAG, and that's exactly how his short career played out. My advice would be to at least see players in a game before you crown them as roster material.
  23. Sad? I'd label it more as "unfortunate." It's actually good that it was caught. Hopefully he'll be OK in the future. But I, unfortunately like many people, have seen sad outcomes from cancer, and, so far, this is not sad.
  24. He also went for what some said would've been a 45 yard TD when Bryce hit him in stride over the middle. I'm not worried. Brett Kollman said that Tetairoa is probably most dangerous in that very scenario. Tet has also shown to have very strong hands, ball adjustment and jump ball skills like other bigger receivers.
