Jets have both the NFL's top-rated run offense & run defense. They are first team to led NFL in both since 2007

Defensively, the Bears rank 27th against the run. After yielding 193 yards on the ground in a Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills, they were much better against the 49ers, permitting 129 yards. Expect the Jets to lean hard on their run game. Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory lit up the Oakland Raiders in Week 1, but struggled against the Packers in Week 2. They'll have a good chance to make some noise against a Bears rush defense that has allowed 5.4 yards per carry over the last 18 games. “These guys take pride in running the football,” said Bears defensive coordinator Mel Tucker about the Jets. “They’ve got a number of really good players that they can give the ball to and get production in the run game. They have a very physical offensive line, a hard-nosed, ground-and-pound-type of mentality. You can see that on tape with these guys.”

Offensively, the Bears rank 30th in the NFL in rushing, averaging just 66 yards per game. The Jets run defense has permitted an average of only 52.5 yards per game this season and hasn’t allowed an opposing running back to gain more than 43 yards. “This is a typical Rex Ryan defense,” said Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer. “He’s going to make sure you can’t run up the middle first by the type of personnel that he gets. They’re huge, they’re strong and they’re powerful. There are not many yards to be gained.”

If the Jets lose, there's a good chance it will be because they got lit up by Chicago's potent passing attack. The Jets ' CBs remain a major weak point of an otherwise strong defense. Dee Milliner is listed as doubtful to play. That leaves Antonio Allen (a converted safety) and Darrin Walls as the team's two starters. Jay Cutler could struggle if Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery aren't themselves. Both wideouts are expected to play, but neither is 100 percent.

Geno Smith played the best football of his young career in the first 20 game minutes against the Packers . His play tailed off down the stretch. Which version of Smith will show up against the Bears ?

Eric Decker has very much looked like a true No. 1 receiver so far. Unfortunately for the Jets , Decker strained his hamstring against the Packers and is a game-time decision. The Jets are still waiting for a breakout performance for tight end Jace Amaro , the team's second-round pick.

      Sam Martin   CARPunter#6 Panthers re-signed P Sam Martin to a two-year contract. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Martin’s deal is up to $5 million. Martin joined the Panthers last season on a one-year deal and wound up booting 56 punts for an average of 47.2 yards per punt. Martin is a 13-year vet of the league who has spent time with four different franchises. He landed a career-best 48.2 percent of his kicks inside his opponent’s 20-yard line last season.

      What to Consider when you Draft in Round 1

      Surprised CB is that low.  19th is odd spot. For many recent drafts, teams only felt there were around 14 first round players.  So to many 19 is just an early second and doesn't hold the value of a first.  If you go off- the smart path of LT, QB, edge, WR, CB, etc. Whatever your OG, Safety, ILB, etc needs to be a difference maker, that's the key point. I've said the 8th best edge is better than the 1st safety. Same for QB and even WRs. You should 100% factor in position value.  MHS you've been wanting a FS, let me tell you its super difficult to be a difference making FS. You're just sooo farrrr away from the action and the end result most times. If you're in the play, defense made mistakes in order. Now to talk out of both sides, maaaaaann that white boy from Oregon....I thought he crushed the combine and honestly that alone made me rethink "is he worth 19 now?!?!" he's now in the discussion for me, but still below others.    Plus I feel TE is vastly underrated in value terms. But looking at the last 20 years of TEs in the first, its down right bad. You're better like X10 better drafting one in 4th or 5th.
