Guys, I'm new here and a Saints fan. I had to create an account to see how my boy Jake is viewed by Panther fans. His stats are pretty terrible, but they did win the last two games. I didn't see the game yesterday, but his stats were awful. Did he almost cost you the game? Also, I'm weary of you guys because you can posses the ball and keep our O off the field and shorten the game.

Geaux Saints!!

You beat us with virtually the same team in last year's finale. What has happened to you guys with virtually the same team? Reminds me of the Titans...what gives?

you guys want to hear something ironic? When we signed Brees, there was a huge part of the Saints fanbase that wanted to get Jake instead of Brees. I like Jake and all because he's from LA, but I wouldn't trade him for Brees in a million years!

Oh, no one thinks Jake isn't a nice guy. Great character. But it's time for him to move on to full-time horse racing.

I think Jake's arm is just gone. It started towards the end of the season going back to the green bay game(when Smith made those amazing deep catches) but the running game was so good at that point that it wasn't noticeable. Then came Arizona and Jake tried to match what Warner was doing and broke down. Add the Eagles game and Jake lost confidence. Now he's second guessing himself with a failing arm and it's just not pretty. Compound that with bad pass protection, Smith not beating double teams like he used to and no true 3rd WR.

Jake and ST tried to give the game away but the running game just picked up and dominated in the 4th quarter.

Those are the thoughts here in LA with people that know him. They think his arm strength has not come back. Good point, b/c without a great arm in the NFL you HAVE to be decisive; if you are not, forget about it.

He never had the strongest arm and definitely has never been very accurate but there are 2 things that tell me it's arm strength and confidence. First is the deep balls, which he's always been able to tag Smith with. They either float and hang in the there forcing the WR to stop or they just sail on him and he overthrows it. The former is arm strength, the latter confidence. The second is crossing routes that he's been throwing behind the receivers causing either a tipped ball or a CB jumping the route. He hasn't been throwing them with the zip they need and they have been a second too late. Again, the former is arm strength, the latter confidence.

Jake is a good guy and I like him but he isn't and never really was a quality starting QB in this league. The Panthers won the last two games (against bad teams) in spite of Jake. I also think the coaching on the Panthers has gone stale. The team's intensity is nothing close to last year before the playoff meltdown.

    • Yeah lol well the interest isn’t really about seeking stimulation.  I wanted to see how actually bad it was.  And how much of it was women setting him up to be their cash cow.  That is the stuff that leveraged the Panthers into David Tepper’s hands. It is important in that sense.     The worst that I have heard is that he got them in the car and clumsily reached across to help them with their seat belt and made contact. With his arm. That was probably his big slick move. And I can almost guarantee he wasn’t rejected every time. It is easy to picture that action bringing his head close enough to the woman’s head to where he could go in for the kiss if he thought he got the green light.    I really don’t care if JR was a horn dog. We heard all our lives up until the last few years that one of the perks of being really old is that you can flirt with the young women and it is not just tolerated but expected. So he was keeping a tradition alive at some point 😂
    • Well I rubbed some dirt on it and am still here just not optimistic about the future of the QB position. Even what I had accepted as a ceiling raised to an acceptable level turned out to be a bit of a mirage, upon rewatch of the WC game.  Good plays were there yes, but some pretty bad ones too that the good ones late in the game kind of obscured. I have to downgrade that a little.  Especially after rewatching the last 4 plays. I remember the arguments about he did his job the WRs didn’t but that was really just that last muff by Coker I think it was on our final offensive play.   To the future: I know what my level is for paying him and recommitting, but I don’t have any confidence that the team shares my high bar.    But thanks for the pep talk
