With all that said, I'll grant that this thread is a little silly.

to imply football is some great mystery that no one can understand unless they've played their entire life is asinine.  i'll say it again; good leaders know what they know and what they don't, and they surround themselves with people who know the things they don't. it's safe to say a self-made billionaire 11 times over is aware of this.  the OP and his subsequent posts itt are projection defined.

Not arguing these posts aren't silly.

Perhaps the best thing to say is we really don't know how good Tepper is yet. Yes, he's a self made billionaire. So are guys like Dan Snyder and Jimmy Haslam. Their football skills are...lacking.

For Tepper though, he doesn't necessarily need to know the game. He just needs to be able to recognize who does and put them in charge of doing the work.
