Positively Pointless Power Rankings Week 11

1. Colts

Indy keeps winning games no matter the circumstances, and has a legitimate shot at going undefeated. Despite some struggles early against the Patriots they were able to come back from a 17 point deficit, albeit with some help from the Patriots. Peyton has thrown for over 300 yards in all but one game this season, and is on pace to throw for over 5100yds.

2. Saints

Two weeks in a row the Saints struggled to put away lesser opposition, even scarier that it was St. Louis this time. Brees was making mistakes and the defense couldn't contain the Rams offense. If not for a special teams touchdown this would have been the biggest upset all year.

3. Vikings

The Vikings played the Lions, the result went as expected. More importantly AP seems to be back to his old self and Brett Favre is still somehow playing football the way he used to a decade ago. The schedule for now is forgiving but it will become much tougher after week 13.

4. Bengals

Although Cincinnati's offense was unable to put up a touchdown against the Steelers, a special teams touchdown and excellent defensive play gave them the win. The team as a whole seems to have come together in a way no one has seen in Cincy for years. Even better is they only have 2 teams remaining with a winning record.

5. Steelers

Pittsburgh finds themselves in a seemingly improbable position, having just been swept by the Bengals. The offense has to get back on track, and score touchdowns instead of settling for field goals. Pittsburgh now faces a tough matchup against the Chiefs. Maybe tough is the wrong word... Easy. That's it.

6. Patriots

Nobody goes for it more on 4th down these days than Bill Belichick but one has to wonder if he's starting to take it too far. The failed attempt late in the game against the Colts clearly put them in excellent position to run out the clock and take the win. The Patriots take on a struggling Jets team, but the big matchup is in two weeks against the Saints.

7. Cardinals

Kurt Warner put on a clinic against the division rival Seahawks, but the key to the game was the continued development of the running game with Beanie Wells, who put up 85 yards and two scores. If the Cardinals can find more balance on offense they may be much tougher than many in the NFC anticipate.

8. Chargers

The offense is back on track with Rivers playing mistake-free football and L.T. putting up his best game of the season against a quality defense. The defense also got back on track, holding the Eagles down most of the game. The matchup this week against the Broncos is now bigger than anyone thought.

9. Broncos

How badly do the Broncos want Kyle Orton back? Just as they had started putting the ball downfield more he is injured and in comes Chris Simms who struggled after being out of football for a while. The Broncos will have to figure something out offensively against the Chargers if they want to stay on top of the AFC West.

10. Cowboys

Just as the Cowboys' offense seemed to have turned the corner they put up a horrible game against the Packers getting much of nothing done. The offensive line was a major issue, unable to give Romo enough time all game and the rushing attack couldn't take the pressure off. Dallas wasted another great defensive effort.

11. Eagles

With Brian Westbrook out for the foreseeable future and a banged up defense, Philadelphia has found themselves struggling as of late, and unable to get the offensive production they need. They will have to find the answers soon seeing as how everyone has closed in on them for the wild card spot in the NFC.

12. Texans

Houston comes out of the bye to face a Titans team that nobody really wants to face, and this is just after the Texans seemed to have figured some of their problems out, winning 3 of the last 4. It won't get any easier after Tennessee as they turn around and face the Colts again for the second time this month.

13. Giants

The Giants' passing attack has all but halted and the rushing game not able to accomplish much. The defense has been ineffective at getting to the opposing QB and hasn't been able to stop anyone lately. New York had a lot of things to sort out during the bye week and the rest of their season doesn't get any easier with several good teams on the schedule.

14. Ravens

The Ravens go back to playing real NFL teams this week after blanking the Browns (unsurprisingly) but worryingly Baltimore was only able to put up 16 points against a team that couldn't really stop anybody. They will need the offense against the Colts if they want to stay in the hunt for the AFC Wild Card spot.

15. Packers

The Cowboys game was an improvement over previous efforts by the Packers, but Aaron Rodgers is still getting pummeled in the backfield and he won't last much longer at this rate. With no real running game to speak of this could get messy if the offensive line can't figure things out soon.

16. Panthers

After a miserable start to the season the Panthers seemed to have turned a corner and have gone back to the mistake-free football that their team is based around. With the defense playing at a high level and Jake Delhomme figuring out which team to throw the ball to, the Panthers now find themselves within one game of the wild card spot.
