Farewell Jake and Godspeed

Now I know that I cussed him out through the TV more than once over the season every time he threw and interception. I know that this move was probably for the best and a good way for Carolina to move forward. And I know a bunch of you out there were haters from the start. With all that being said, 6 of the 7 seasons were great. I always felt we had a fighting chance with him in the game. After watching his goodbye news conference, I couldn't help feel sorry for him. Here was a guy who poured his heart and soul into this team and his passion was unparralled. I am going to miss that. I wish Peppers had that, but he doesnt and since he doesnt I hope he fails miserably in Chicago. Good riddance Pep. I hope Jake keeps that fire and applies it in whatever other facet of life he finds himself. His stats over the years are remarkable considering he was undrafted. He kind of embodied the American dream to rise from nothing and become something. His hardwork and determination he put into his job is something that everyone can look up to. Now that the Delhomme era is over, I am looking forward to seeing another no-name rise to fame. Good luck Jake, and Moore, here is your chance. Don't blow it.

If there is already another thread of this type, oh well. Merge it, neg rep it or pie me. Whatever.

I raise a tall glass of Guinness to bid farewell to Jake and to a 2010 Carolina Panther Super Bowl run.:cheers2:

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
