I hated the first one. It was much too repetitive and from the reviews I've heard this one is just as repetitive.

The main story is repetitive, but what they really did well is rewarding the player for mindless destruction outside of the storyline, and that wasn't really in the first game as much.

So you can play through the actual plot (or lack thereof) as little or as much as you like.

Exactly I've only done the first agency mission so far just been enjoying blowing poo up and doing races/faction challenges.

The story is terrible, but I'm just guessing it's supposed to be. Thought the game was stupid until I did that first mission where you escort that guy in his car... and realized that you can jump from car to car and all.

Definitely a lot of fun. Right now I play it whenever I get to a part in Metro 2033 that makes me want to break the disc in half (aka any part where you have to shoot things).

I've had some pretty sweet jumps from really high buildings and mountains where I free-fall the entire way and grapple onto the hood of a car at the last minute.

I wish I had been recording my game yesterday. I took a helicopter as high as I could over a mission marker, then jumped out. I free-fell the entire way and grappled onto a building at the last second, and as I jumped down to the ground, I turned around just in time to see the helicopter I was piloting crash into the roof of that same building.

Epic.

I had a moment playing yesterday, I was driving the hovercraft in the ocean blowing poo up. I blew up a military boat and the drivers body went flying in the air off like 100 feet into the water with him flailing and screaming the entire time.

Yeah, the game seemed fun enough but the demo is too short.
