Hanson going tonight, man I just love watching him pitch. As good as our rotation is, its crazy to think how good we potentially could have been if we hadn't traded Waino. Wainwright-Jurrjens-Hanson at the top of a rotation? Now that's just plain sick.

Jurjenns has been less then stellar this year. I know he is hurt right now but what is his deal? Didn't he have some off season shoulder problems or something?

As far as Hason goes....I remember driving home from the beach at about 85 mph trying to get home in time to see him pitch his first MLB game. I was with a friend of mine who was a Braves fan. I believe it was on a Sunday and he threw his first pitch as we walked in the door. I am not Braves fan but I can appreciate good talent.

Jurrjens to the DL, Kimbrel up, Medlen to the rotation.

Sucks for JJ, but we need him healthy if we have any chance at competing this year. Get healthy and come back and help us soon, JJ! Kimbrel is just plain nasty though, we're getting a view of next year's closer this year.

The only big issue Hanson has is I think he's too easy to read or something. His pitch counts are always really high and he struggles getting through 6-7 innings efficiently. But he's definitely something to get excited about.

Incredibly relieved we were able to pull out the win. Great job.

On a side note, why can't Moylan be our closer when Billy retires?

Moylan's too good at being the "fireman" in the bullpen and coming in when there's runners on and we need to get out of the inning. Moylan's probably our best reliever (if his arm stays attached) and he's best used in situations like that instead of having to pitch the ninth. After all, the game is more often decided in the sixth, seventh, or eighth innings than in the ninth. Which situation is more crucial to preserving a win: runners on second and third with only one out, or starting the ninth with a clean slate?

Its a bullpen philosophy thing really, one that I'm not ready to give Bobby credit for seeing as how he usually mismanages the piss out of the bullpen.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
