NBA takes away Dell Curry's rookie vote

NEW YORK (AP)—The NBA has taken away Charlotte Bobcats broadcaster Dell Curry’s rookie of the year vote because his son is among the leading candidates for the award.

Curry’s son, Stephen Curry, is averaging 17.2 points and 5.9 assists per game for Golden State. He and Kings guard Tyreke Evans, who is averaging 20.3 points and 5.8 assists, are considered the front-runners to be top rookie.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank says Dell Curry will be allowed to vote for all the other postseason awards, but the league did not want to put him in an awkward position with the rookie award.

Curry played 16 seasons in the NBA with five teams.

Franks says the league will replace Curry with another voter who covers the Bobcats, but has not picked a replacement yet.

I see no issue.... and they are giving the vote to another member of Bobcats media. He still has his other votes so it's a non issue. This way his objectivity cannot be called in to question, especially if the difference in the winner was one vote... Great way to be proactive.

Who cares. It still goes to someone with the Bobcats. Who do you think that guy's going to vote for?

true--

i think they should take away Dell's MVP vote too.. and DMVP.. u know Dell is just gonna vote for his son.. he will probably vote Steph as the 6th man too.. this year is just tainted- we probably shud just not have the voting- it damages everyone's ego who loses

    • I feel like we are running out of time on dodging this bullet.  It will be us within 5 years or less imo.
    • Brother, I don't have a clue about what to watch, Ive been victim to too many "reality TV" scams. Bear Grylls was the last straw for me.... wait a second I did watch early pawn stars for about 6 full seasons. That slop 90 Day Fiance, Temptation Island, and marriage at first sight shows should be banned. Total trash that get insane ratings.  The last series I watched with GREAT joy and excitement was the first Dexter series on showtime. They do not make any TV movie slop for me in the last 20 or so years. New Dexter was a complete joke. Besides having one gem hidden each year, example I liked dune..... but Im a Syfy junkie.  Hell recently Im on the wine mom schedule with murder shows Forensic Files, dateline, any murder shows copies. My TV/movies knowledge is 20 years ago when history channel had Modern Marvels, MTV played music videos, and BET had Comic View. My gods do I miss those days... Plus Im on a terrible Habit with YouTube shorts, I need to do better...... Sucks being a old soul in this era.
    • Idk maybe. Guys like Favre, Rodgers, Brees also only having 1 kinda takes the heat off the Colts only getting 1 with Manning. And none of those QBs had to deal with the Pats dynasty or Steelers/Ravens mini-dynasties (no they are not dynasties but both those teams were in the mix pretty much every year in the AFC and both won 2 SBs in Manning’s career). Honestly think if the Manning Colts were in the NFC they’d have won 2-3.   An elite QB is a big deal but you still have to build a team around them. They could’ve been like the Dolphins with Marino.
