Compensentory Picks

Recommended Posts

If a team without any first round picks signed Peppers, where would our picks be? We're supposed to get two first rounders so would they be at the bottom of the first round or where?

Same goes for RFAs. If you don't have a second round pick, could you not sign a Level 4 RFA or whatever it is just because you don't have the picks?

Thanks in advance

They would give us their next 2 1st rounders if they signed Peppers to a contract and the Panthers didn't match. Where those 1st rounders are would depend on the team that signed Peppers.

We would get the picks that the team that traded with us agreed on sending us if it's a trade.

I guess that means if Dallas signed Pepp to an offer sheet, then the Panthers would get Dallas' no. 1 pick in 2010 and 2011.

BTW, the term 'compensatory pick' is used for extra picks given to teams who lose players to free agency, not the draft picks given up for signing a franchise player.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
