My observations of Cam Newton's game

I wouldn't mind TRD's criticisms so much if he didn't make it his mission in life to piss on anybody who dares to show some optimism about our #1 pick. He even criticized that 30yd gain to Olsen because it didn't result in a TD. Hell, can anybody here point out all the 30yd pass plays this team had during the preseason or regular season last year? Why can't we be happy about an obvious improvement?

I wouldn't mind if he was a fan of this team or if he critics other player on this team instead of just the QB.

I thought he looked average. He made some decent throws and some poor ones. I'm rooting for him but clausen outplayed him.

I can't agree with that Clausen still didn't look great in the pocket. He held the ball to long on some plays and he threw a pick 6.

He did comeback and didn't let that one play were on him.

How in the world can you say that Clausen outplayed Newton? Clausen was responsible for the Giants only TD and the TD pass he threw was off target. Hell, I'm pulling for Clausen even more than last year because he's a Panther and he has handled the drafting of Cam Newton with nothing but class, but come on man.

If you discredit Clausen's TD, you have to discredit both of Cam's big completions.

Can't have it both ways.

Ya clausen had a costly mistake. cam had plenty yet he was lucky enough for the passes not to be intercepted. The guy wasnt perfect by far but he looked like he understood the offense better then cam. And shiit he wasnt in the game for that long and scored more then cam did against 3rd stringers.

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
