As a student of Ball State who has seen Nate play for the past 3 seasons, I couldn't say I would draft Nate unless it was a late 6 or 7th rd. Very inconsistent play, really only played against MAC level competition, and hasn't shown he can take direct snaps (only played shotgun in college).

He does have great arm strength and is fairly accurate in his throws. He is somewhat mobile, though may struggle learning new playbooks and reading opposing defenses. He would have had better numbers last season were it not for leading WR Dante Love becoming fracturing his spinal cord. As for Nate, he will need time to develop into a starting caliber player. He's no Ben Rothlisberger.

Yeah I've broadcast games for Ball State the past couple of years and I just don't know if Nate is smart enough to play at an NFL level. I was surprised when he was as highly thought of in the first place. He has the skills and talent of a 2nd or 3rd rounder, but the fact that he has a learning disorder and will certainly not impress any GM's or scouts in an interview he should slip to the 5th or 6th round. But, yeah the fact that he's taken the majority of snaps from the shot gun should scare a lot of teams. I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him in the 6th or 7th rounds but nothing before that, and that's coming from a big fan of Nate's and of the Panthers.

dido, I'd rather them take a chance on bringing in Darius Hill at TE. Im sure he will go undrafted. Great physical aspects, pretty good speed, just dropped a couple big passes this past year.

Dante Love would have definitely shook up the draft and been the first BSU player drafted within first 3 rounds. Such explosiveness, elusive, fast, and great vision. Obviously still disappointed in how his career ended.

Moore yes...Mccown no.....why is he on our team anyway...im pretty sure he is done progressing in his development. also Panthro that Jesus joke is excellent.

What’s the difference between the real Jesus and a picture of Jesus? It only takes one nail to hang up the picture.

    • Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .
    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
