No trades this time...

1st: Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State

If he's there he is the slam-dunk pick. I've gotten solidly on the Cox bandwagon lately after watching some of his clips on YouTube. He's got a non-stop motor, plays the run well, and can give us a good pass rusher in the middle, which will free up Johnson off the edge.

2nd: Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama

Alright... he's got his issues, I admit, but if he slips to us in the 2nd it's a no brainer. Jenkins is the best pure cover corner in the draft and if we're willing to take a chance on Brandon Hogan with similar issues and a torn ACL we should jump all over Jenkins in the 2nd.

4th: Marvin Jones, WR, California

It seems clear we're intent on drafting a WR relatively early. Jones figures to go late 3rd to early 4th so he could very well be there and if so we'd be crazy not to take him. He has a ton of upside.

5th: Demario Davis, OLB, Arkansas State

We obviously need depth at linebacker and while Keenan Robinson is the trendy pick, I have a feeling we might not end up taking him due to circumstances - in this case Marvin Jones falling to the 4th - so we take Davis here.

6th: Brian Stahovich, P, San Diego State

He's not the best punter in the draft, but I'd rather wait a round and get him than take Bryan Anger in the 5th over a defensive player.

6th (Comp.): Josh LeRibeus, OG, SMU

I seem more worried about the OL than most, and while this pick likely won't fix anything in the here and now LeRibeus does have some developmental potential for down the road.

7th: Cameron Collins, ILB, Oregon State

We addressed depth at outside linebacker, now we take a flyer on a player with some upside in the middle behind Beason.

    • So looking at the current standings we are 15th in draft order.  Several teams will probably pass us especially if we actually lose out. There are 3 teams that most definitely will be drafting a QB Jets, Raiders and Saints  Cardinals (Murray), Dolphins (Tua) and Houston (Stroud) with question marks Browns Gabriel and Sanders but maybe they jump on another QB if they get high pick Titans (Ward), Commanders (Daniels), Falcons (Penix) Giants (Dart) Vikings (McCarthy) all young QBs but most likely wont' be drafting a QB.  Dallas (Dak) and Bengals (Burrow) doubtful I doubt Jets, Raiders and Saints surpass us in wins. So we'd be in the window for the 4th best QB in a bad QB class.
    • Just curious how many conversations you’ve had about banning op or is it just people whose opinions you generally disagree with like Icege. You seem more than happy to agree with trolling and dead threading when it aligns with your opinions. OPs post history is 10x worse than people you’ve banned or talked about banning. On the topic of Bryce Young, heading into the season a lot of people wanted to see is Bryce Young the guy moving forward, or isn’t he? I think the question has been answered in that he is not. That’s actually worse for the Panthers than if he built on his performances at the end of last season and became the guy, but you wouldn’t know that by how some here are acting. Pretty well confirms that some on this board would rather be right about an opinion that would be bad for the team, than watch the team succeed. Weird how OP only shows up once a year after the QB and Panthers absolute worst performances…
    • I’d give Howell a shot over any of those other options.
