Pro Wrestling GDT

Well, since the old thread has been buried with nothing really to talk about until last night, I figured it was time for a new pro wrestling general thread.

Talk about anything wrestling here. WWE, TNA, ROH, Indies, whatever just keep the topic to wrestling.

I must say, heel Punk is best Punk. Can't wait to see where this goes.

punk just doesnt do it for me.

this generic pg era poo is absolutely atrocious. I recently started watching again since Extreme Rules and Daniel Bryan and Ziggler are the only good things going. I don't get the CM Punk hype, maybe i havent been watching long enough. Raw/Smackdown are disgraces now, every show is awful.

In the words of John Cena "This fudgin sucks!!".

You've only seen face Punk. This is the hype behind Punk.

yeah im excited to see what hes gonna bring.

Also a possible spoiler/rumor:NWO is coming back with Punk being the leader

Yeah, I doubt that. Punk has done great work in the past with a stable behind him but I don't see the NWO coming back.

Kevin Nash's twitter definitely suggest something is goin down. I hope it happens.

Nash is also old/crazy/drunk.

The problem is how misused stables have been in WWE recently. The whole idea of the Nexus was great but the payoff wasn't there. The New Nexus wasn't any better.

The idea could be good, bring in a bunch of young heels and have them feud with the older faces. Punk, Bryan, Ziggler, Miz, Rhodes, Sandow, Cesaro, a returning Wade Barrett, a debuting Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose or Chris Hero. Have them feud with Cena, Sheamus, Jericho (turning face) etc. but the same thing was done with the Nexus 2 years ago.

Yeah I didn't watch when "Nexus" was around so IDK.

Also, I remember when the titles other than the championship ones actually meant something. Divas/Tag Team/Intercontinental/hardcore etc. used to be big. Now it's "lol kofi kingston and santino marella".

    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
