Quick Question

Last week, the Panthers beat a Saints team at home, in a very physical game, mentally and physically.

4 days later, they have to host the defending Super Bowl champs with one of the best QB's in the league along with the best front 4 in the league

Seems like people were high on the Panthers, and they played a pretty shatty game....

How do we go from a team with a lot of promise to a team thats a complete bottom feeder?

I am reading some of your guys post as:

"Cam is nothing more than a Vick 2.0"

"Cam isn't clutch"

"Rivera is not the answer"

"Fire Rivera"

I personally believe people are overreacting about this game.

I am not trying to give excuses but look on the positive side of the things

Cam is an amazing talent who will be one of the best in this league.. Those two of the three interceptions came late in the game when he was forcing things to get the team going. The first one at the end of the second half was a tip ball that was just bad luck. A bad bounce at the same time.

You know what, the Panthers had a bad game. And while yes it was a miserable game to sit through, with it being on national tv and being replayed over and over, we can't dwell on that

They have to focus on the next game, next play

as should we

We can't think about "if we play like this, we're gonna get creamed by Atlanta"

Everybody on this board is very fast to say "THE SKY IS FALLING"

just like many jump on the band wagon and say "We could have the best, deepest team in the league"

Our defense has many holes, most notably in the pass rush..Zero pressure. The fact a QB can have as high of a pass efficiency as Manning did tonight is just not acceptable

The fact that we can't get a push at the line of scrimmage is unacceptable

But honestly the last thing I feel we need to worry about is a 22 year old young man with incredible talent and ability who is not even calling the plays..Imagine if you were him, under this pressure. he has the entire fan base expecting him to be the MVP of the league.

Pretty much in short...

We don't need to sit here and say "THE SKY IS FALLING"

Take a step back and put it in perspective

We had a rough game this week, and it stings for sure

however, we can't blame the loss on anyone person

Wasn't Cam's fault, it wasnt the defense's fault, it wasn't the coaches fault

Three weeks into the season, and people are already abandoning ship.. This is ridiculous

Sorry for rambling and ranting, its just frustrating to see people throw the cards in on the third game of 16

ra ra ra ra

Its the same ole Panthers man. Soft D playing 10 yards off the receivers, complete horseshit gameplan on OFFENSE and DEFENSE. All while having the same clueless look on riveras face.

Excuse some people for not being optimistic with our team the rest of the season. The schedule is also fuging BRUTAL.

Please also recognize there is a middle ground. I have seen the same idiots you have tonight, with their racist comments, their knee-jerk reactions, and the search for a quick scapegoat to pin the loss on.

However, I also believe that some (myself included) are beginning to be disturbed by some of the things we have seen, and not just because we have lost. I'm bothered when I see a defense that is playing like they have no confidence in the scheme or their teammates. When we keep hearing we are going to be an attacking d, and yet play a soft zone all night. When we seemingly do nothing to generate pass rush, other than sending an occasional extra LBer or safety. When we see no in-game adjustments to counteract the Giants pass rush.

So no, the sky is not falling, but there are some disturbing signs that all is not well with the team, and we cannot just sit back and pretend it's not happening.

Agree that the sky isnt falling but in 3 weeks we have been exposed.

TB - Equal/Marginally better team captialized on weaknesses and got a victory

NO - No Defense from Saints allowed Panthers to control game and stay a couple steps ahead

NYG - Did essentially the same thing Tampa did but with superior talent/coaching which translated into a methodical beatdown.

Panthers will come back and get better but there might be more days like this. Areas of improvement are abound.

In simple terms and to borrow from Dilbert the message to the front office/coaches should be this.

Offense - It No Worky.

Defense - It No Worky.

Gameplan - It No Worky.

Fixing roster problems from last year - It No Worky

For me, it's not just last night. I've been sitting through "bad games" since 1995. Don't get me wrong, I love this team and I'll always root for them. I spend a great deal of money that I probably should put to more important things to be a Panther fan - game tix, jerseys, etc. But for every glimmer of hope they give me, they seem to always relapse back into mediocrity or worse, leaving guys like me to pin our hopes on a future that seems farther and farther away the older I get (I have "There's always next year" stitched on my pillowcases). I'm starting to feel like I'm married to a boxer who's got talent, but will always be just a sparring partner, making the other guy look like a world champ. If I had the answers I wouldn't be shlubbing around a fan message board like the Huddle, I'd be a multimillionaire NFL consultant or something. I realize I'm bitching without offering any constructive criticism, but damn it, being a Panthers fan (and the rollercoaster of emotions that entails) is getting to be really, really fatiguing.
