Terron Armstead - Offensive Lineman

Recommended Posts

any other hbcu or small school prospects that stand out to you?

I'm really high on Brandon Williams, DT from Missouri Southern St. and B.W. Webb, DB from William & Mary, is a solid player as well. Robert Alford SE Louisiana is good too and brings return ability.

Some HBCU guys:

Keith Pough, LB, Howard

Kejuan Riley, S, Alabama State

Derrick Washington, RB, Tuskegee (transfer from Missouri, was a finalist for the Harlon Hill in his lone season at TU (DII version of the Heisman))

Chris Slaughter, WR, Fort Valley State ( transfer from Auburn, dominated at FVSU last two years, 6-3, 180)

Xavier Boyce, WR, Norfolk State (transfer from VA Tech, 6-4, 220)

Daronte McNeil, RB, Elizabeth City State (Transfer from ECU, rushed for 4300+ yards and 50 TDs the last 3 seasons)

David Carter, RB, Morehouse (only played 8 games this year but still rushed for 800+ yards and 13 TDs; had 1400+ yards and 19 TDs as a JR)

All these guys probably won't get drafted but may get a shot at being UDFAs. There are others as well but these were just off the top of my head.

yeah i like him. too but could he come in a be as good as matt kalil as a starter at left tackle.....??

ive heard reports from kirwan that he could have gone to a big name college, but he promised his team mates he would stay. pat kirwan also said that hes very smart when it comes to football and compared himself to joe staley....

He won't come in and be Matt Kalil as he still has a lot of things to work on. In fact, I'd probably start him out at RT for the first year or so to let him get use to the speed of the game, similar to how the Cowboys did with Tyron Smith.

Exactly. We can't afford to cut Gross unless we plan on spending $ on FA or moving up in the draft to ensure that we get one of the premier LT, which I don't see us doing.

I think any tackle we bring in will play RT this season and that includes if one of the top LTs falls (highly unlikely) to us in the draft. I don't see any reasonable scenario where we cut Gross.
