Steelers Mock compared to actual draft

This is how I mocked the Steelers in our mock draft:

And this is how the actual draft has gone/went:

Comments:

- 1st round, in our mock, Jarvis Jones was not available in the 1st round when the Steelers picked and Barkevious Mingo was selected. In the actual draft, Mingo had already been selected and Jones was available. The critical need of the position was filled in both drafts, however, with the highest impact player available at the position at the time of the pick.

- 2nd round, in our mock, the RB position was recognized as a need but the pick was put off due to quality running backs falling in the mock as it has in the actual draft. The Steelers, however, chose to go ahead and go out and get their guy in the 2nd round in the actual draft. That's a miss between the mock and the actual draft.

- 3rd round? NAILED IT! :)

- 4th round, I had the Steelers picking a RB which they already filled with their 2nd round pick in the actual draft. They did, however, pick a SS which position I saw a need because of current vet injury concerns and I filled with Motta in the 7th round. I also had the Steelers selecting a backup QB in the 5th round in my mock, but since the Steelers picked up another pick in the 4th, they used that extra pick in the 4th to draft their back-up QB (I had them taking Matt Scott from AZ and they took Landry Jones, OK).

- 5th round, I had the Steelers picking the back-up QB (covered above), and nowhere in my mock did I have the Steelers picking a CB. So as to this pick? A *big* swing and a miss for me.

- 6th round, 1st pick, another WR pick for the Steelers. I had them taking a TE, so we'll see if that happens with their 2nd pick in the round. Aaaaaand with the second pick in the 6th round, the Steelers took a LB. So swing-and-a-miss in the 6th.

- 7th round, the Steelers take the DT (and NT replacement) I thought they would take earlier in the draft.
