no recap from week 4,was out of town spending QT with the wife.(she wouldnt let me just watch college football either)

 

but i should have one for this week, and there are several good match ups.

Florida confirmed senior DT Dominique Easley will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn meniscus and ACL in his right knee.

Head coach Will Muschamp got out hopes up after he said Easley only "tweaked" his knee, but other reports stated otherwise. Easley tore the ACL in his left knee in 2011, so at least this isn't a repeat. The senior was the most dominant interior defensive lineman through four weeks of the season and offers great burst and hand use off the snap. He can return under a medical redshirt tag, but we expect Easley to enter May's draft. Our own Josh Norris considers him a top 20 talent, but recognizes he won't be drafted there.

was having a good year until the injury.might have knocked him out the 1st round, sucks for the guy.

week 5 standouts

 

 

Victor Hampton, CB South Carolina. another good CB from South Carolina. listed at 5'10 202, he does have decent size to play on the next level. he also showed the ability to play off man, and mirror WRs down field. he  baited the UCF QB into throwing a backside post and jumped the route beautifully for an INT. he is also physical and plays press man rather well. is considered the best cover guy for the gamecocks this year, havent seen his deep speed but will keep my eyes on him.

 

Kyle Fuller, CB Va Tech. this guy has really stepped up and been one of the better CB prospects this year. can play outside on an island, and cover the slot in nickel sets. can blitz and will come up and help in run support. dont know if it was schemed or depth issue, but vs Georgia Tech  Fuller, played a lot in the box, as a hybrid CB/LB role. he took on blocks from OL, scrapped holes, blitzed, and dropped into coverage. he will be a decent CB on the next level,and is another guy to watch for.

 

Rashad Greene, WR Florida St. these next few guys i have mentioned before, but it seems that they keep making splash plays. i am sold on Rashad Greene, and i think he will surprise some people. this guy really reminds me Desean Jackson, but tougher. he is not scared to go across the middle, and high pints the football really well. he caught a deep ball on a corner-post for about 60 yards because of his route running and speed. he is one of the most explosive players in college football. he also scored again on a play that broke down where Jameis rolled out of the pocket in trouble, and found Greene before heading out of bounds. Greene got a little separation and tapped his feet(yes 2) before falling out. finished with a 4 catches, 90 yards, and 2 TDs stat line.

 

Mike Evans, WR Texas A&M. huge target, that keeps making plays. beat his man for a huge gain on a post route. when Manziel is in trouble all he has to do is lob the ball up anywhere near Evans, and he will make a play. his 2nd TD he had 3-4 defenders around him, but still made a play where he attacked the ball in the air in traffic. he caught the TD but did seem to hurt his leg on that catch. dont remember him making a play after getting hurt.

 

Cyrus Kouandijo, OT Bama. this guy improves every week in my eye. he can perform every type of block that a OT should. his pass protections is good too, and he had a pretty good night vs a decent Ole Miss DL. it appears that he is the #2 OT in the draft if he declares. i think his upside is much larger then Lewan.

 

Jared Abbrederis, WR Wisconsin. former walk on, who wins with savy route running and good hands. he beat a decent CB Roby pretty much all night long. he either had great separation from his routes, or made great catches in traffic. Roby held, grabbed, and interfered with Abbrederis all night. Jared had a helleva night vs a guy who many thought was a top 10 prospect.

 

Cedric Ogbuehi, OT Texas A&M. Jake Matthews gets all the pub from that OL, and should. but Ced is a pretty decent prospect in his own right. is a big RT that played RG last year, and could maybe play the LT spot as well. he is really athletic and has good feet, and moves really well. long arms, and him starting at RG as a sophomore with Joeckel, and Matthews speaks about what the staff thinks of him. he had to see the field, so they plugged him in at RG.playing multiple positions is a plus but he could be an all pro as a RT.

 

Jarvis Landry, WR LSU. A 6'1 195 WR who might have the best hands in the SEC. he is a smooth route runner, but is not a burner in the speed category. his style compares to a Victor Cruz, because when this guy gets into the slot he becomes a match up nightmare. can attack the seams of a defense and takes advantage of LBs when matched up against them. made several huge catches on UGA in traffic and on huge downs. does not mind going over the middle.

1st-2nd round prospect Colt Lyerla has left the oregon football team, and will declare for the draft. is a flex TE, or H-Back has lined up every where from inline TE to Halfback in the shotgun and got inside reads. will compare to Aaron Hernandez because of talent, and off field issues.but he has the talent, wouldnt mind looking at him in the 3rd round.bet Bill is licking his chops, to get him.

 

Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich doesn't even get that luxury as any chance of star tight end Colt Lyerla returning to the field ended Sunday night when the junior announced that he's leaving the program.

"I love everyone at Oregon; everyone's on good terms, I believe," Lyerla is quoted on the school's official athletic website, GoDucks.com. "Just for my own benefit, it was time to move on.

"I wish nothing but the best for coach Helfrich and the team. I love the University of Oregon and am so thankful for every opportunity that I had. I'm going to use everything I learned from this program and do my best to be successful in whatever happens in the future."

Lyerla addressed his future, indicating that he will not be transferring to another school but will instead be preparing for the NFL. As an underclassman, Lyerla will have to petition the NFL for early admittance into the 2014 draft but the third-year junior is technically eligible.

Gabe Jackson 6'3" 335lbs OG - Probably the best guard in the draft with strong base against the bull rush and excels in run blocking and pass protections 

He would be a excellent compliment to Amini and Kalil interior of the line would be top 5.

Love Jackson. But I'd still give the edge to Cyril Richardson.

Brandin Cooks and Kyle Fuller are quickly becoming my favorite prospects in this class

 

i like Fuller as well, but Cooks is a stud. i havent seen him play live much, but his cutups are pretty impressive. he reminds me of smitty, smaller WR who can compete on the outside because of his ability to track the football at its high point.
