Bengals.  Except for Dalton, the Bengals have a better roster top to bottom.  But Brady is 500x better than Dalton so that swings the edge to New England.

Did Benjamin's injury help Cam become a better QB?
Charles Tillman made an interesting comment on ESPN First Take today I want to discuss.  With Benjamin out this year, did it have an unexpected benefit to Cam's game?  In his first four years, Cam had a "volume" wide receiver he could feed the ball to.  Steve Smith his first three years, Benjamin in his fourth.  This year he doesn't have that go-to receiver.
"We have a next man up mentality.  With KB going out, he was a workhorse, got a lot of passes thrown to him.  Cam was forced to use other targets...he's dishing out the ball equally.  That's one of the things that's helped change his game."
Now, we're only four games into the season, and against better defenses, the Panthers could miss having that workhorse Kelvin Benjamin to lean on in tough situations.  But did his injury actually HELP Cam become a better QB?  Time will tell.

We are going to thrash Seattle.  They look awful.  It took a blown call for them to beat an 0-3 team.  Wilson can only get so lucky before his luck runs out.  They have some good players on defense just like we do, but even without Benjamin our offense is better, especially our line (who thought I'd ever be saying that).  We're going to blow them out, I'm convinced.
The only team that scares me is Green Bay.  Aaron Rodgers is a madman carving up every defense he faces.  He will be smart and make quick work of whoever is playing across from Josh Norman.

It's probably because of Allen's injury.  Playing it safe with someone they are trying to save for the end of season stretch run.

They look weak as fug.  Took a blown call by the refs for them to win.  Even if Lynch is back, Panthers are going to punch to Seabirds in the fuging mouth.  And it's about time.  I'm hoping for an epic blowout.  Russell Wilson tries to pray after the game but God ignores him so he quits football forever.

Bet he's tired of Ronde Barber calling him "Matt"

  7. hepcat added a post in a topic How weak has our schedule been really?

Every team the Panthers have played has had issues.  All of them had shitty QB's, pretty bad defenses, no running game (the Bucs have an average running attack).  Granted the Panthers were missing their best player for 3.5/4 of these games, but still.  Let's wait and see how we hold up against Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, and Aaron Rodgers before we get ahead of ourselves.

  8. hepcat added a post in a topic Should the Panthers make any moves over the bye week?

Gettleman should have been waiting at the airport with a new contract for Josh Norman.  I knew they should have re-signed him before the season, would have been WAY cheaper.  Maybe they did and Norman said no...

Any analyst who predicted the Panthers to be cellar dwellars just doesn't pay attention and should probably be fired.  Mainstream media outlets didn't pay attention to the silent but deadly moves the Panthers made.  Michael Oher was a great signing.  He's not Jordan Gross, but he's not Bryon Bell either.  Bringing back Ginn proved to be a HUGE move after Benjamin got hurt.  Charles Tillman has clearly helped Josh Norman take the next step, teaching him the punch.  And as always he drafted well.  So many other great moves by Gettleman.
The Dolphins made a ton of flashy moves like signing Suh, trading for Stills, adding Jordan Cameron, among many others.  They've long been a poorly managed team full of talent but unable to put it all together.  Just goes to show you that you can't buy success in the NFL.

One thing is for certain, if Atlanta makes the playoffs behind that cupcake schedule, they will get rolled by one of the good teams in the NFC.

The best team Atlanta plays this year is Carolina
I was just looking at Atlanta's schedule for the rest of the year.  The Panthers started out with a cupcake schedule, but man, Atlanta's entire season is a cakewalk.  Easily the most difficult games will come against the Panthers.  Going to be a tough road to a third division championship.

Can't wait until the Seahawks game.  Panthers have looked good against the bad teams, @Seattle is the real test.

I understand being extra cautious with your best defensive player, but when do we start wondering if it's more serious than a concussion?  They've been pretty hush-hush about his status since the injury.
