  1. Darren Sproles??

This would be a solid addition.

Where did I say there was "dysfunction?" I said there was disagreement, and that's enough to rustle your jimmies this badly lolol. I'd wager the only reason that something so mild can bother somebody so much is because of the reason I mentioned above.

The entire "don't think, accept" ideology relies upon the front office being a unified front which arrives at perfect decisions in perpetuity, together. To suggest that there would be experts who don't agree with other experts, or even worse, that there are those who may have opinions that reflect the less popular takes that can be found on this board, would completely dismantle that ideology and people know this.

I wasn't questioning either of their ability. The implied point was simply that there appeared to be a philosophical division present. I think they're both ultimately good at their jobs, even with the warts

lol I never said that. YOU said that. Nobody here would argue that Dave acted on an impulse and didn't bother to tell anybody. That's absurd. What has been argued is that it was his decision and that it was an opinion that was contary to that of the head coach.

Okay for starters, I didn't take the quote out of context, PFT did. I just ran with it to rile people up in this thread that people didn't care about beforehand. Secondly, it doesn't negate any point the article makes. You're right, Ron did say "impossible to fully asses," as in, you can't fully assess a player with what they've shown us in rookie camp. The things you provided as achievable during a two day period-which, BTW, are not actually achievable within a two day period, are all intangible byronbellisms. "passion."
  7. Brandon Boykin to visit Falcons

Circumstantial evidence carries a lot of weight when stacked with legitimate evidence. Nobody is saying Ron found out about the decision through his ESPN.com app. Were just saying that it very well doesn't appear to be the decision Ron would've made

You probably need to clean your pants.

Saying "I'm trusting Dave on this" is strong enough evidence to spur on the reasonable belief that it was primarily Dave Gettleman's decision. "The more I thought about the tag the less I liked it" seems like a fairly strong indicator as well.

Nobody is contending that Ron sends his wife texts about how much he hates Dave's shorts. We're saying that given Ron's immediate response in the moment, it can be reasonably inferred he wasn't on board with the decision. As happens in every office all across the world every single day.

Dave recently brought up his affinity for Edmund Kugbila, after admitting in post draft presser that year that there were differing opinions on him but he made the final call (though he didn't say who was on which side then) How do we explain this away? We've got to preserve the illusion that everything affiliated with our favorite team is completely ideal, regardless of how unreasonable or insane it sounds.

oh please. You're making a reflexive panic reaction because you think Gettleman is under attack and are dishing out the generic inter-sults. Ron openly admitted that he "was going to have to trust Dave on this one." If you're so thin skinned, and i know many here are but I don't expect you to be, that you can't deal with the reality that there is dissension in NFL front offices between employees then you're the delusional one. Not anybody else. Many here can't come to grips with that reality because it obliterates the whole "trust the experts! Don't discuss anything!" narrative that is so heavily relied upon to deter any uncomfortable questions if you concede that the experts have opinions just as varied as this board.

Difference between "lying" and saying the right things to the press, especially after people publically took note after their original press conference. Saying "we made a group decision" is the off season equivalent of "we just gotta take it one game at a time."
  14. Brandon Boykin to visit Falcons

Lol go watch the predraft presser. I'd certainly imagine he's reversed course but he made it abundantly clear in the immediate wake that it was GM driven.
  15. Brandon Boykin to visit Falcons

interesting. Now we know it isn't the coaching staff's decision. Ron wasn't too pleased about the Norman release either.
