  1. Cam was let down by his offense

Quarterbacks have well under 2.5 seconds on average to throw in the NFL.  The O-line put up a decent fight against ridiculous defensive pressure (other than Remmers).  Cam's gotten away with close to 3 seconds all season long. We expected to be able to treat Denver like any other team.  We failed. Shula wasn't going to throw out the offensive playbook that got us to 17-1 and build a dump off New England style offense in two weeks that puts Cam in situations where he's much less accurate (short passing downs).  Especially when New England just got beat using that exact offense the game prior. The only way we won today was by the players not making stupid mistakes.  And boy fuging howdy did they make a lot of stupid mistakes.  Cam included. Shula calling run plays through the A gap every 1st down was predictable and bad.  But so was Cam's accuracy, the WRs' hands, and Tolbert's ball control. It also would've been nice if the D wrangled one of those three near interceptions, but I can't blame the defense for last night's poo show.
  2. By not overthrowing my receivers on the few plays where they're wide open? 18/41 is pitiful for an NFL MVP.  Cam was missing easy dump offs for first downs all night long.  And there's a very good chance we'd be celebrating right now if he hadn't fumbled the ball twice.
  3. This.  Jesus Christ, this. The offense was bad, top to bottom.  Cam was as bad as his receivers were as bad as their O-line was as bad as its running backs were as bad as their coordinator.  No one gets a pass when everyone did a bad job.
  4. He insulted the messiah.  This board has fractured into a Cam Newton fan forum.  Panthers fans are merely guests here.
  5. Panther Fans Will Get Their Team Back Now

If there's one thing I'm happy about, it's that this board will clear out of all the poo posters who can't stand to hear any criticism of the team.
  6. The Fall of Cam Newton

But he is part of the problem. Cam has weaknesses, and Shula's done a good job of adapting to them. They both did a poor job last night.
  7. The Fall of Cam Newton

Thanks. I didn't feel like stat scrounging because posting on mobile sucks. But this basically makes my point for me.
  8. Two seasons ago, we were one and done in the playoffs. Last year, we won our first playoff game since 2006. This year, we won two playoff games and made it to the Super Bowl. That seems like a clear progression to being Super Bowl LI champions.
  9. The first pick needs to be offense. This Super Bowl was all Gettleman's oversights at wide receiver and offensive tackle coming home to roost at once.
  10. Alright, that's a bit dramatic, but it gets the point across. Let me start by saying how proud I am of what Newton and the Panthers did this season. It was incredible to see a team predicted to go 6-10 run circles around and dominate the NFL for 3-4 hours a week. I don't think I've been this excited for an offseason in over a decade. Say what you will, this is NOT the last time the Panthers appear in the Super Bowl. Now, let's talk shittiness.  I pointed out leading up to the Super Bowl that, despite his reputation as a QB, Cam is one of the worst QBs in the NFL when pressured. It's not because he is afraid of getting hit (though man oh man did Denver beat the poo out of him today), it's because Cam has perpetually struggled with accuracy on his short passes and dump offs. There's a reason we had our best season ever right around the time Cam got a dominant offensive line. Cam is unstoppable when he has time to pick a defense apart for 20-30 yard gashes at a time. That game plan brought us success in 17 games this year. This was not one of them. With the ghost of Byron Bell returning to haunt Newton's soul, our QB got blown up today for 7 sacks and 15 hits. The rare times he had a WR open downfield, it was a toss up whether the ball would be pulled in or dropped. For the second time all season, Cam couldn't win because he was pressured almost immediately with a playbook and OC that demand 4-5 seconds on any given passing play. Can Cam eventually turn into a check down and dump off machine like Tom Brady? I think so. Cam has improved a lot as he and Shula have spent more time working together. But we saw today what happens when you over rely on your QB making the "big play", especially when your receiving personnel are some of the worst in the league. This was a hell of a season, boys. Keep pounding.
  11. Yeah. I've called people babies for crying over their teams losing, but fug it.  I'm struggling to stay composed right now. I guess I'm a bitch rooting for a bitch team. My life.
  12. I can't believe I thought this was the year. I hope every one of you fuging idiots who were calling for a dynasty learned not to count your chickens before they hatch.
  13. Why didn't Cam jump on the ball?

he thought Kalil was going for it Kalil backed off microcosm of the whole game honestly
  14. Cam backed off because Kalil was diving for it then Kalil let off whatever, fug all of them
  15. lol please we're playing not to get hurt after this drive
