Em you gotta understand that this is a fanbase that is sick and tired of everybody always thinking the Panthers are down and out before the season begins. Our quarterback is also one of the most unfairly loathed athletes in the world to boot. When most people have bet on us to lose and we start off undefeated, yes we expect that to be highlighted. You normally do great work and I have always been a fan. I think you dropped the ball on this one. It's ok, nobody is perfect. Keep doing what you do.
Team has faith in Klien. No he's nowhere near as good as Kuechly, but he's an above average inside linebacker. Take your time with our future hall of famer. He's got a whole decade of football ahead of him.
A lot of Julio's production is coming off of little pick plays. Of course he's still really good deep down the sideline, but his production this year is heavily amplified and primarily because Quinn and/or the OC are abusing weak LBers or flat out breaking the rules on some of the picks they execute (see second half of Eagles game where it started getting called). Really not too worried about him with how athletic our LBs are (assuming they are healthy) and Jno kicking major ass this year.
This was a smart PR move by Dameshek. He knows the wrath of our young and growing fanbase and he knows the Panthers are going to the playoffs this year. Making a statement like this when nobody else is willing to is very smart, and could potentially shake out well for him. I love it Dave!
Possibly but you forget that Hardy was valuable for attributes other than sacks. Hardy was a nasty special teams gunner (though I think we started to pull him from that role once the sacks started coming). Hardy was a great lineman both on the inside and as an edge rusher. Hardy was also great against the run and at chasing down screens and mobile quarterbacks. The big difference here is that Hardy has unnatural raw speed for a man of his size. He's very similar to Peppers and Robert Quinn over in St Louis. I do hope Jared Allen rejuvenates his career and has an animal year, and I certainly think that is a possibility. I don't think we should downplay just how great that dline in 2013 was though.
This is a ref that used to consistently ref playoff games and Sunday/Monday night football games who is now consistently reffing 1PM sunday games of small market teams. The league has been aware of his incompetence and lack of professionalism for a while now. There is a reason he keeps getting knocked down the totem pole despite his popularity with the fans.
