  1. The video features footage of three straight men who clearly dress and identify as men. ...has anyone considered that straight men might be the problem, not trans women?
  2. John Miller

okay wow. I don't know where to begin. Therefore I will use an HTML un-ordered list: They are not effectively the same I never framed my statement, nor responded to your statement in terms of foreign policy foreign policy is not all that matter even if it did, the Middle East and NK are not the only foreign policy issues that matter even if they were, you were the only one framing my point in terms of foreign policy I never said, nor even considered that Trump will cause a war with his mouth Trump is, in fact, a POS who will alienate us from our allies because he's a petulant poo But even so, I was never even talking about diplomacy I'm not a Hillary supporter. I'm a diehard Sanders supporter, and pretty much anti-Hillary. But I'll grudgingly vote for her to keep Trump out of office. If you had taken this much time to frame your argument in the beginning rather than just nebulously suggesting what you may or may not have implied by your use of "effectively" I could have set you straight sooner. Now please go on and tell me more about reading comprehension
  3. John Miller

No you weren't. You were being intentionally dense. Because I'm frustrated by your automatic "I know you are but what am I?" equivalent responses doesn't mean you've won. It means I'd be wasting my time to continue this line of conversation. I made my point. You ignored it repeatedly. That doesn't mean you won, no matter how much that self-assurance puts your mind at ease.
  4. John Miller

Why can't the dog bark he himself gratefully. I'm sorry, I thought we were just writing random non sequitur.
  5. Got a relationship question...

Poo man, I'll be your bitch.
  6. John Miller

Um. I believe I did that. I mean, I did exactly that. That exact thing. That is the thing which I did in an entire paragraph in my last post. The thing you are asking me to do, I have already done. Demonstrably. Clearly. Here it is again. If you cannot read or comprehend, however, I don't know how to help you. Again, to be clear, that ^^^ is looking past what he is saying and speaking to his character. Protesters. People peaceably assembled to protest his hateful rhetoric. I don't see how that makes them fanatics. Weak attempt to reshape the argument. Show me a video of a Hillary/Bernie supporter physically assaulting a Trump supporter. I'll wait.

She's part of the political establishment, which so far has been 43-0. I don't think you can say she's empirically different than any former president. Trump is a billionaire, reality show entertainer, who's been coddled and entitled his entire life and no faculty to comprehend the life of every day Americans. He's a bully, an idiot-narcissist with a terrible temper and no ability to take insults as freely as he dishes them out. Because of his money and status, he (or John Miller) freely admits to women throwing themselves at him, he's gone through like seventeen divorces, so excuse me if I don't think he understands or has the interests of real women in mind. He's a racist, misogynist, bigot, gaslighter, and compulsive liar, while being in denial about any of the above. He's gotten this far by saying things that are probably untrue, and made policy suggestions that are utterly impractical, but people like to hear them. He's saying exactly what the lowest common denominator wants to hear and they love him for it. He's the fugging Michael Bay of politics. And his hair and hands are dubious. All that I can forgive. What terrifies me, and should worry you, is he has fanatics. Angry, racially homogeneous, primarily armed, largely uneducated fanatics with expressed beliefs that are provably homophobic, Islamophobic, and even pro-slavery. Pro-fugging-slavery. In 2016. That guy wants Trump in the Oval Office. And everything he's done up until now seems like he's testing the water to see how far he could push his followers. "Ban all Muslims" was met with roars of approval. "Let's build a wall to keep out the Mexicans," while totally impractical and inefficient, was a huge hit. He's not only gotten away for saying those things, he's won landslide approval for them! How hard would it be for him to up the ante more when he's in office? And people always say "Oh, there's checks and balances. it would never happen." If one in ever 100 of his supporters would follow a command he gave unflinchingly, which I believe is a low estimate, he could have his own Brownshirts. Hillary has people who would vote for her. Trump has people who would kill for him. Yes, he and Hillary are different.
  8. John Miller

Well put, but the question remains. Why in God's holy name would you ever want a doppelganger of the worst parts of America to be president? I'm not a huge Hillary fan either, but she's a better placeholder for the next four year while we're waiting for more progress-loathing Boomers to die off, and for a Post-Bernie far-left Tea Party to even out the balance of the political spectrum, and we can get a real centrist without Wall Street backers or Vienna sausage fingers to run a competitive campaign.
  9. Really? I thought the easier zing would be something along the lines of, "Press zero 6 times and Hillary answers. She'll do anything for a figure with six zeroes in it."
  10. Own a piece of history

This. Nothing about his cartoonishly villainous character since the shooting leads me to believe he's anything more than a maniac emboldened by a gun. If he had confronted me (although my gut tells me he wouldn't have had a problem with me) I bet I'd be as dead as Trayvon right now. He's just one of those buried and forgotten landmines that exist among the American people that you just have to go about your life and hope you don't have the bad luck to step on.
  11. If the story was about a white kid going to college, the comments sections might have some random insults (because it's the Internet and everyone on it is a dick). But there wouldn't be insults directed at him because of his race. That's why this is noteworthy. Because when we're confronted with overt racism like this, people say "both sides are meanies." When the real takeaway should be that no side, and no commentary on any site, regardless of affiliation, should be making cracks about a black girl going to college.
  12. My thought as well. But we have a socially ingrained fantasy about the heroic scenario of shooting the "bad guy" and clearly that was his prerogative in this scenario. More emphasis should be put on helping the victims, injured, weak, rather than trying to resort to violence right off the bat. I'm sure he saw the headlines in his head, thought he was invincible, was assured that he was the "good guy" in this scenario, and was so certain his military training gave him the advantage. But then--
  13. Selective use of logic: Guns and Bathrooms.

Yeah, that's demonstrably not confirmation bias. I mean, I was pretty sure it wasn't then I saw your post, and now I'm positive.
  14. Isn't it interesting how logic can be applied selectively? Gun Control: Liberal: Guns should be illegal. Conservative: Why? L: Because they kill people. C: No they don't. People kill people. L: But if you don't let anyone have a gun, then they can't murder people. C: Yes they will. If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have all guns. L: Laws are magic! It will stop all gun-related murders! C: As far as I know, killing people is against the law. Why do you need a law to prevent people from owning a weapon that could potentially be used to kill someone when there's already a law against the crime you are trying to prevent? L: Because I don't want to get shot. Bathrooms: Conservative: It should be illegal for trannies to go in the bathroom with the gender they identify with. Liberal: Why? C: Because they molest children. L: No they don't. Pedophiles molest children. C: But if you don't let any men them in the bathroom, then they can't molest kids. L: Yes they will. Child molesters can just go in anyway. It's not like the law will stop them if there's no one around to see them, report them, or enforce the law. C: Laws are magic! It will stop all molestation! L: As far as I know, molesting children is against the law. Why do you need a law to prevent men from going into the girl's room when there's already a law against the crime you are trying to prevent? C: Because queers are icky. The sad thing is conservatives always seem to get their way.
  15. GOP 'Family Values' Is Hypocritical Bullsh*t

I wish Congress worked like a police thriller. "Denny, I'm gonna flip to IA. They're gonna cut me a deal that'll let me keep my pension. You gotta come clean because next they're gonna come after you!" "Murphy, if they find out that I planted evidence on the Mendoza case, then everyone I ever put behind bars if gonna be let out. I'm not gonna let that happen!" If you get busted diddling kids or fugging your underaged interns, or soliciting sex, or generally committing crimes, then shouldn't the legislation you introduced and pushed through be repealed? It's just hilarious that you, I , everyone in the US lives and has their behaviors and actions governed by laws that were established by people who weren't even decent human beings themselves. I mean, a guy who's diddling kids probably put laws on the books that result in hundreds of thousands paying fines or going to jail.
